Thread: Spawn delay when tracking

It seems the faster you move through an area, the less wild spawns there are. Like if you come zooming in on your swoop, jump off, then area track, you generally don't find much. Good for not getting killed, but bad when you are trying to track certain creatures. So, how long do you have to stay in one area to be reasonably sure that everything that is going to spawn in the tracking range has spawned?

In addition to being a just plain cool profession and great compliment to rifleman in PvE, I had hoped the Ranger abilities would help me find the elusive Peko Albatross, but I haven't had one shred of luck tracking them.

Thanks!

Im imagining a modern native american tracking some large game. He comes flying up on a Hyabusa hops off looks at the ground for 5 seconds and says

"Nope nothing here. Must be all gone"

Hops on the bike guns the engine and gets away as fast as he can

Ranger is about patience. Ranger is about learning your environment. We have gone into great detail how to get tracking to do its most. And how to make it work with the SWG works. When your hunting the Peko you grab two friends. They walk or go mounted (not on gallop) 100m to your left and 100m to your right. With you in the middle. This will cause whatever is going to spawn to spawn in a large radius around you. You track ever 100m-200m. It takes awhile but its worth it because you will get a clearer picture of the area your in

I have found that waiting 10 seconds before tracking will allow most things to spawn in an area.

I went in search of them again this morning and found some interesting results. With the albatross, and possibly other rare creatures, it seems like the spawn delay is much higher than 10 seconds. I was out collecting up herb meat and found 3 different spawns of the albatross. In each case, I had been in the area for 2-3 minutes before the albatross popped up either on the radar or in the areatrack. I'm going to try again tomorrow to see if the results change, then spend some time on Lok next week to see if GDKs follow a similar pattern.

I've had similar problems with Mutant Rancor tracking... I have yet to actually track a spawn before I see the rancors looming up infront of me, lol. It probably is a lack of patience, as I like swooping in on my bike, jumping off, doing my business and going.

lol, I'm so impatient I don't even hop off my bike. Maybe that's why I've never found any of the Hero of Tat things in all my times trying, lol.
