Thread: One bored Ranger

I log in daily to check my harvestors but other than I am at a loss of what to do. I even went so far as to go imp briefly to do the really short easy theme park then back to rebel I went.

I have a healthy bankroll so going out to get money just doesnt appeal. I guess I enjoy myself most when poor... heh. I am FS so I do each quest as it rolls around just for something to do. I'm not into grinding just to get my jedi but I do cash it in once I get a decent amount. I dont PvP so that doesnt appeal.

The majority of my guild spends alot of time either building grenades for grinding or just grinding with grenades so doing group stuff usually doesnt happen. We have yet to complete corvette missions since we never seem to get that proper group build for making it through. Due to past failures I really dont look forward to doing it again. lol I am sure its doable without a jedi but I think that makes things alot easier I would bet.

I am content with my template at the time being so I dont really feel like changing up and doing different things. I have went that route before and enjoyed my time dabbling.

I do enjoy wandering on Endor looking for the elusive Gorax but after many searches I have yet to find anything.

What do you guys do when absolutely bored and there isnt a decent resource begging to be harvested?

Well, there are lots of things to do:

  • Wander a planet you haven't been to in a while and collect milk and eggs (always in demand, even if they are crap--and you supposedly can /harvest milk).

  • Try and see how far you can get through the Corvette unbuffed and unarmored (I've made it into the last hallway I needed to before I ran out of time).

  • Try a race course.

  • Try some of the other quests (all over the place) or themeparks (Nyms, Valarians, Jedi [on Dantooine], the various Hutts [3, if I remember correctly, one on each starter planet], Sean's Bestine quest if he is in power,Hero, Gungan, Nightsister, Singing Mountain, Imperial Prison, etc)

  • Log in to Test Center (when it is up) and try some stuff out.

  • Pick a different server and play around a bit.

  • Work on some sort of player event.

  • Go to Mos Eisley and help out some of the new players.

And this is just the beginning. I hope it gives you some insipiration for what you feel like doing.

Good observations. I do like a postive outlook to this game considering I have dabbled into the forums on the core systems heading, oh lordy. That place is full of people begging for changes in the game or else. Those alternatives to the ranger lifestyle do sound fun to do. Right now I enjoy attempting to solo the beasts without buffs. Good hard earned honest cash it seems to me when I break a few beasts when I bleed a little because, even though the mental bar shines brilliant, I cannot manage to put my helmet on and now accidentally stored my boots to help me run with non-composite protected feet. Two weeks and all of my armor will be stored accidentally. Reguardless, I enjoy being on this heavily populated server. Many opportunties for we poachers of the native wildlife. I just wished the camo kits worked as camoflauge against people and not just creatures. Not to mention who said you have to be a ranger and fight. Just tag along and be the ole' Jedi tracker to help out your fellow bounty hunter for a profit maybe. I am curious how that will be with tracking 4. I am in that Carbineer trainning mode so I am kind of mercenary biased.. lol I would love to charge out my services if I had the cash to just wander around and worry not about going broke on minor things.

Go to Mos Eisley and find a bunch of noobs. I mean still in the noob cargo vest, sneakers, armed with CDEFs noobs.

You get a mission or two. Ya gotta run, they don't have transpo yet. /conceal them even.

Smack the lair. I choose sand beetles, only one at level 25, and I let the noobs shoot or whatever while I pdart and admesh it senseless. Takes a while, but what the hey, you are bored anyway.

Don't fall asleep while the "kids" kill the lair. Listen (ok, read) while they go wild with the XP they get, and the creds.

Then, pop the HTFB for healing and training or whatever. More oooohs and ahhhhhs.

More fun than popping paralopes pooping on the guild lawn. And if your guild is really that bad, think about moving on and/or out.

remember the awe you held some players in so long ago ??

I recently came to face this problem as well... my decision, ultimately, was to drop Ranger.

WAIT... HOLD ON... before you get in a tizzy folks...

I'm re-training Ranger from the ground up.

Between all the discussions about our various skills, the fact that I'd given up on Trapping and Camping ages ago led me to think I needed to get back to my roots.

For the past week or so I've been in the process of regaining all the Scout XP, Camping XP, and Trapping XP I need to become a Master again. Slowly I'm regaining a great appreciation for the parts of our profession that fall by the wayside as we "sit around" with the Master Title.

If you're board, I highly recommend going out there and re-learning and re-testing the profession we all hold so dear. It's a great learning experience and definitely brings me back to where I was a year ago, fresh in the game... running away as much as I was running towards.

Well, my guild isnt horrible its just that we all hit stagnant points. Couple of guys have had recent unscheduled times in PvP which got them kind of excited. I might get involved at some point with it. We shall see.

Yeah, I guess there are a few things to do I havent quite explored yet. I do havea Vette ticket I thought about using solo unbuffed unarmored.. lol. MIght give it a try.

Have you solo'd the vette yet? that's one heck of an experience. Been doin that alot recently.

If you get good you can do the destroy mission solo with no problems, just get a group that's willing to pay for the badge and make some cash and maybe an AV21 or two

If I get bored, ok it happens not too often , I go to Moenia or Coronet or wherever there is an endless spawn of Meatlumps and the like. I get out my Rifle and start to kill them in a endless row, it sounds boring but to me it is just like meditation. After some time I get in a tranquil state .

Another thing I like to do is going out looking for nice places to take a photo.

Did I mention shopping ? There are so many shops, you say that money is in your pocket, ok so go on a long and expensive shopping tour. Take a woman or two, depends on the amount of money you have, and go "hardcore" shopping .
