As a swordsman, I generally tank in my group anyways, so I don't use rescue that much. However, when I wasn't tanking, if I noticed that our tank was getting hit hard, I would tell him to peace and then I would use rescue to try to draw the mob off him. I think it worked a couple times, but I truly don't remember.

When I was a rifleman taking newer people hunting...I would use it all the time to draw the aggro off of them. It was great. But...with taunt you can do the same thing. So if you have melee you can use either one.

I never used it at all. However, I started to use it recently when I was helping a new player get some xp. Also, as a swordsman, I often so this skill is useful if a mob start to aggro another player. I have had poor luck though 'recusing' people from higher end mobs. My jedi friend kept getting aggroed by a peko peko albatross and rescue was doing a whole lot of nothing to get that bird to attack me.

FS village, phase 4... Helps get the aggro off doctors who are trying to res group members. It also helps them if they're trying to rebuff people inside the hut, but can't pull out their med droid because they're in combat/aggroed mode.
It helps if the target is hitting /peace.

It's also important to remember, you a rescuing an ally not the creature. So, make sure you target the person you want to "rescue" and not the creature you're trying to pull off of him/her. It took me a bit to figure that out at first.

I use it all the time. A friend of mine is working on carbines. (He's a novice BH, but he's cool and isn't a whiner in the least.) So, when I tank for him, I'm constantly using rescue to pull things off of him and on to me, and I tend to keep a distance from him that will put him in the best range for his weapon. We pretty much got him through marksman that way, and I'm really looking forward to helping him track and kill difficult bounties. When we first started characters on Naritus, that was our goal-- to be a tracker/bounty hunter duo. And since I'm a TKM, I can tank pretty well. I imagine I'll continue to get lots of use out of rescue in the future.

OMG i love rescue (once i figured out how to use it)!!! I too had a friend leveling rifles and would tank for him while he shot what ever it was we could find...I've even run across several noobs on Dath crying for help from rancor. (ever wonder why rancor drop bone armor loot? noobs taste too good :smileywink
. LOL, they think you are so uber when you 'call' the rancor to you.
Rescue is an asset that i would be hard pressed to give up.

I told you, pre-nerf rescue worked without the "rescuee" having to stop combat and peace. Fact is, 95% of the time, the Ranger did it and the "rescuee" had no clue what was going on. Much quicker and cleaner.
