Okie dokie. SOE is dropping 75k in our laps if we have JTL... and the whining is commencing.
"They killed the solo group" (to which I say bout freaking time) " and now this money is like a million..." Actual quote from the Scylla forum. And I laughed, mainly at the whining, and I know the guy.
Gang, I made over a million this weekend, in about 3 hours of game time. I started Saturday morning with 15 million, ran some missions, sold some meat, and its Monday now. I have 16 million.
I bought new pistols, powerups, a droid for our new master doc, a bunch of paintings for guildies, food, paint kits, new engines for my ships, a new swoop for a noob, tipped dancers and noob docs, bought me a new droid, new weapons for myX wing, and wasted some of the money here and there.
My secret, Endor. 10k missions for Gleaming Lantern Birds, level 40 mission.Drop 80cpu herbie meat. Take two missions, 20k. About 1.5 or so of meat. Find bolles, drop them, 2k of meat for 2 missions. Do 4 missions and thenget bored... 4k of meat at 80cpu is... 320k. 40k for the missions. 360k total.4 missions takes 45 minutes, max. I did 4 sets total.Over a million. I shot extra stuff here and there, so attribute the extra money to that.
Oh, I stillhave 8k of meat. I went back today and will go back again and again as long as the meat stays good. Then I will continue to go back for the xp.
75k is ...tip money? I dunno. S'not a million. And I don't see prices coming down, so methinks the whiners are too freaking lazy to earn money the real way. Go work for it instead of having it handed to you.
Do I miss solo groups? Nope. I seldom did them as they cut into my harvest. I did some when I could do Pirate missions on Talus for 11k and maybe get a crystal - but that got boring.
Anyhow, it ain't bragging if you can do it. I did it. Anyone can really. Not like I am all "l33t". Altho - Rangers rock.

I hate you JBMat. But, in a nice, caring, seasonally cheerful sort of way.
It's unusual for me to have bucketloads of cash (I've got a house habit and there there's the twi'lek dancers...) and I rarely take contracts for big cash crops, partly due to my being terminally lazy and patrly due to my having an attitude of 'well, if I can pay the rent what do I need more for..."
So I can feel pretty good when I trickle over the million mark once in a blue. I mean, it's not like it's a competition or anything...
but 16m?
oooh, I do feel slightly envious.
I want to get to master rifles and be able to kill kill kill for fune and profyte. I want to be rich...
... or do I?
Reckon I'll take SOE's 75k and blow it on... hang on, I'm on Bria, 75k is pocketmoney here, what am I thinking!

it DOES all depend on the server, but... all my 'free' creds went straight into maint.
what I REALLY found myself asking was:
this is a JTL-only perk, right? which means that it ISN'T shuttle money? does that mean it's more cash to dump into the laps of the chassis broker?

There was some waffle on the JtL board from an interview given by SOE which suggested it was a form of compensation for new players who are finding it hard to raise the 220k for an X-wing...
(obviously people who don't know how to shop around or do a deal with their local SW)
Mine is all going in cake and brandy, that and cheap twi'leks. Well, it's only 75k, can't afford the other type...
... sorry, I meant to say, "Mine is going to the local Widows and Orphans"... no, really.

Now, here's my opinion...
As for the 75k itself, I don't really care. I have more than enough money to keep me happy and 75k isn't going to make a big dent. HOWEVER, I don't have JTL and have, ever since jtl's release, felt somewhat left out. I don't want JTL and I'm happy with the ground game, but hte ground game is hurting right now. JTL split the game in two and I simply feel left out. This 75k was a nice signal of affection from SOE but it wasn't towards all the players. I don't want the 75k. All I want is to feel like SOE still cares about the ground game and ALL of the players on their servers.
Albeit, the logic for this gift was to counteract the cost of a chassis, but it comes off as a gift that half the players got that I didn't. Ok, enough of me being a bitter sh*$er. C'mon SOE, why do you love one child more than the other? Oh right, they bought your expansion pack

I know there is nothing tangible, but the Combat BalUpVamp will show y'all just how much the Devs care about the ground game

Any word on if GreenMarine is still the guy "in charge" of Ranger development (among other things)? Or would some of the new hires take on the role of developing for ranger? Or is it too early to say?
Just wondering.. I knew he was assigned to JTL for a while, but was wondering if he'll be put back on on the scout based professions.

Ther is no Ranger specific dev (and in reality, I don't there ever was...there was only a dev who had worked on RAnger mopre than the other devs, IMO). It is a group effort. I am not sure how the new hires will figure in, though.

Now, now, JB. This isn't a competition. And anyway, with my *ahem* 17 million plus in the bank, I wouldn't have noticed an extra 75k if not for the email. Happy holidays, paupers!
Seriously, happy holidays.

Yeah it is too early realy but from what ive read before i got the impression there is likea lead dev in charge a a group of professions etc, but of course that is all out if the window no because they are heading in another direction. As for the new guys from the announcment it said some were going to be working on non combat upgrade stuff and things like that so hopefully we can get fixes and minor changes.
