Ok, so I am still new at this. Forgive me if this has been aksed many times before, but...

I have heard mention of looting certain creatures for special stuff, such as the rancor teeth. My question is this:

Can you both loot and harvest from these creatures, or is it a one or the other type situation? I would hate to ruin my chances of finding some good stuff cause I went and harvested the hides from them first...

Looting is independent of creature harvesting. You can loot before or after you /harvest.

Also, it's helpful to include both commands in a macro. Example:

/loot all;
/harvest meat

This will do both at the same time.

You can harvest and loot the same corpse.

I have three macros set up:

bone

/loot;

/harvest bone;

hide

/loot;

/harvest hide;

meat

/loot;

/harvest meat;

these work great for me.

One thing to keep in mind especially if hunting rancors: One time i looted an AMAZING long vibro lance with an AMAZING mind disease DOT on it from a Rancor, and sold it for a lot of money on the trade form.

Also, a lot of people destroy the base stat armor segments, like Rancor Padded Armor segments and Voritor Armor Segments. If you are friends with an Armorsmith, they'll usually gladly take even the base stat armor components, because they are better than not having them. This especially goes for the Krayt stuff. A good friend of mine makes me extremely light Ubese armor with just base Krayt Scales.

Thanks for all the responces folks! I'll have to start looting whenever I can.

And thanks for the great macros folks. For some reason, I had not thought of making any for that simple a task.. though after trying to go through 8 diff bodies during a mission...
