Heh...we USED to have all sorts of great links stickied .

Seriously, Camo are kits are glorified maskscent that a Ranger with the /conceal can apply to themselves or another player. These use camo kits which take planet specific resources. Concealing yourself has the chance to hide you against some aggressive NPCs, but it is very buggy.

There are many opinions on Concealing and mine is that maskscent is much more practical....

Calc, why didn't you plug your Welcome to the Ranger Profession guide on the main site?

That should answer most questions..

Although, not to nitpick, there's no increased radius for tracking.. It's either "no distance" or "distance shown" and the limit is 500m. Granted, it does describe "increased range" in our profession description, but it basically just means we gain the ability to see the range of creatures displayed when tracking.

Because I knew someone else would, or I forgot about it .

In the olden days, there was every indication that traking radius DID increase with level.

green is for slimy leezards. even big, red-brown, smelly leezards.

sorry, but I've been away from the computer for a few days (I admit, I was addicted to KOTOR II on x-box) so I am trying to meet my monthly Calc-Abuse Quota for the month before the holidays.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I've been useing camo kits on Dant for over a week and it doesnt seem to have any bugs. I've managed to take out up to 5 critters without them "seeing" meat one lair ( camo and kneel ). I'm working on Rifleman / Ranger so all my attacks are ranged. I doubt if you try any attack other than ranged it will work. (try picturing a walking bush attempting to melee ...guys I think hes going to see you no matter what ). The only thing I found odd was when throwing traps I was noticed right away. Yes I get a conceal mod with rifle but think a ranger should get something along those lines as well. Particularly if you have camo.

Makes me think of the scene in the movie 1941... Slim Pickens and the Japanese soldiers disguised as Christmas trees.
