Thread: No, I didn't lose a Gorax, so why would I be looking for one...

I do a lot of missions on Endor. Fact is, aside from doing some NPC missions on Talus, 90% of the missions I do are on Endor. I practically live there, and would if we could build there.
What is making me insane is the constant tells asking if I can track the Gorax. I have even had people follow me on missions to see if I was looking for it. They must have been stupid because my radar is set at 1028 and I could see them the whole time. They must have been really disappointed when I did a Gleaming Lantern Bird mission and then started dropping Bols like they were going onto the endangered species list. To further mess with them, I did an /ar to get their names and sent them a tell, stating I was not looking for the Gorax - they could move along.
My character is non-searchable. I have not been going to the Smuggler OP as that is too close to the Gorax spawning area. I guess the next step is to stick Novice Medic on my head.

I think it's totally fair that people see our ranger tag and ask "hey, can you help me track a Gorax?"
HOWEVER...
I think it's really ignorant of them to not accept your response of "no, sorry". Further, I think it must of been a pack of 13 year old playing since they followed you on your hunt hoping to steal your kill. If it wasn't a pack of kiddies then it was some jerk acting like a child. Keep that MR tag above your head and keep teaching people how to be civil and try and teach the Ranger ignorance out of people in SWG!
Best of luck on your Endor hunting!

Don't you just love it when you're laid up, cammoed and concealed, happily plonking conceal shots onto bordoks or whatever and some muppet comes trundling up on his bike and starts yelling at you that you've GOT to help him track a gorax? cos you're like, a master ranger like dood...
Isn't it fun when the critters aggro on THEM and you're still laid up, cammoed and concealed, spamming peace and watching them get mashed by bats and borgles and beasties and oooooh.....
BTW, be careful out there, there's a free 10 day trial of JtL on fileplanet (I think) so we can expect a holiday season influx of tourists. That ought to drop the IQ level in Eisley to sub-zero levels.

lmao,
I bet the best thing to do in all this case is to simply walk to the nearest river and start fishing. If you see them tracking you just say "Hey, wanna fish with me?", lmao - that should anger them a little

Apart from losing a bit of time clocking up weapons XP or some scout XP from harvesting I don't usually mind dying these days. So, if muppetbrain, in his big tin suit with his flashy AV-21 speeder and his 50k linejumping buff wants to come wandering into my workplace and gets himself mauled by the beasties, pffft, I'm losing next to nothing.
I've got into the habit of working unarmoured and, other than a bit of food and drink, unbuffed. I make it a point not to carry anything that's degradable and, if I have to, I've got two droids with storage compartments for armour and BE'd gear. A trip to the clone bank is an inconvenience, but hey, it's worth it. After all I paid 1000 cr, so I might as well get my monkeys worth, eh?
Sparky, on the other hand, will be stomping about the clone bay, black rot setting in, screaming blue murder about insurance / decay and how its' not right that PvE causes damage but he can die over and over in PvP without any losses...
/shrug
I might even gat back to the /way that I dropped before cloning out in time to be able to harvest the bleed shots I fired off in my dying seconds...

haha,
Well, when I play this game I still stick buffed...but that's because I'm melee
If I go rifle again, which I'm really tempted to do, then things should be much much better. I'm also thinking of remastering ranger again, so master rifleman master ranger...oh so tempting.
sticking your armor and stuff in droids is a really good idea...really good in fact. I have crates of armor here, that I made with my other toon (pre-nerf wookie armor, 80% kinetic - approx 15 suits). I pull out a new suit when I need it, but in ~4-5 months or whatever I have yet to pull out a new suit of armor *shrug*
If I go back to rifle, I'll probably do the same thing you're doing, just wear no armor and some good BE clothing. That is the logical idea since one can conceal shot til one goes blue in the face and won't get agroed when dealing with critters.

ah, yes, fooling with kids obessions of getting l337 lew7 is just so much fun. the best part is that we can track them before they even realize that we are not hunting the l337 lew7 that they are after...

It may be a little mean...but you could always do fake misstells:
"rt did you find the Gorax yet?"
to mess with them. That'll have them following you for a LONG time.

When I track for someone, I like to have a little fun;
/tell [blah] YES! Found one!
/message from [blah] Really! Where?
/tell [blah] Oh wait, no, thats a kreetle/
Or.
/message from [blah] remeber its a Graul Maruader I need.
/tell [blah] Hmmm. Will a regular Graul do? I have found one of them.
/message from [blah] No it has to be a marauder.
/tell [blah] Cant you just kill like 6 of these smaller ones for it to count?

Novice medic normally just makes you a target to the l33t d00ds. While not completely a bad thing, it gets annoying.
To REALLY have an interesting procession. Be a Twi'lek female like my GF's character and plant the Novice Medic Title on her. I've never seen so many people tip 5K credits for healing only 10 wound points. it was sick!

Rofl its not due to her bein twill. Try getting someone to heal you when a tumblers in the med center. Or better yet try to find a medic when ones not there. Best is when Master docs are there and they just want to use the tumblers.

That's not bad, but I can think of much better:
1. While fishing, tell the person you found one.
2. Tell him some random coordinate about 2-3Km from your position in any direction.
3. When they say nothing is there, ask them what coordinates they are at.
4. Say you made a mistake, and switched the coordinates so if the original coords were "1111,2222", then they would be "2222,1111" - and say you had to drive a long way, and apologize for the mishap.
5. About 10-15 min later you should receive an angry tell saying there isn't anything there. Say that it despawned, and say you found another.
6. Give your coordinates of your fishing location (of course a nice HTFB and fishing is good)
7. When they arrive, make some comment of your choice, detailing that you thought they were looking for a certain type of fish (one you caught), and try to trade it to them.
