I've recently mastered scout and marksman with the idea of going to BH. Then i saw you need 40K combat XP but I already qualify for Ranger. Has Ranger changed alot since the new patch? I figurd not to take that path due to people saying there was a lot of bugs with the Ranger profession.

Kay,

I wouldn't say that we are more bugged by the new patch than any of the other professions.

There are alot of good changes coming to our profession - check them out in the "correspondent" thread at the top of the forum here.

Good choice - the world has too many bounty hunters. Go Ranger!

I was just wondering, how much better does the harvest quality get when you go up in the ranger skill? cause being a some what novice ranger, cause I really just wanted to build the sweet camps lol(I'm 0/2/0/0) I've recently have got alot of emails/tells from medics for contracts on gettin them loads of meat(roughly about 5-15k per order at 6-10 cpu) it says that the higher the skill, the more quality it is, just want to know how much of a difference it makes. thx

Quality doesn't change, rather the quantity harvested changes.

I am thinking about becoming a ranger. I have a question. Can someone explain how area track works.?

Area track starts by giving you to option to choose to trackEITHER Animals, NPCs, or PCs. You need to be stationary, so you can't track on the run (makes sense). It the gives a great animation of you looking around and brings up a list of the appropiate mobs in a certain radius based on skill (I think). At higher levels, more information is displayed in the list, and byTracking 4 youhave a name/type of the mob, distance to the mob and a general direction to the mob (no waypoints like some seem to think you get). This only works on spawned mobs. New spawns and unspawning can make tracking a tad difficult, but not too bad.

You wanna take on a rancor solo? Good luck.

I was beating on torturs, they don't DB. Great XP. I was beating on grondas, they don't DB. Good XP. Rancors DB. May not be alive to get XP.

No clue if they are good for xp, been so long I forgot what xp was. They do drop like 300 hides per tho.

Right,
depending on your current weapon skill, Rancors would be really tough, however in a rancor hunting group, throw a ton of traps, and harvest, and maskscent yourself, the scouting and trapping xp will fly by. When your party gets tired, throw up a tent while you heal up.

Also mynocks on Lok are good, they arent too tough to solo (although some do db) the mission payout is nice, but soloing and leveling up in traps is a slow and often painful process. Go the group route on the trapping xp.
