Well let me first say this. I am not holo grinding this. My Guild (Protectors of Waterdeep on Intrepid) did not have a Ranger and we are at a point where the services of Ranger was most needed. Being he selfless type I am I took ten minutes read over everything I coudl here, and told my guild that I would be surrendering Master Commando to become a Ranger. I hitg master scout rather quickly (I did what I consider a no no being a role playerand crafted survival out. just to get to Ranger). Now since I was already a Master marksmen, and I have a spare 60k comboat XP (not to mention a large amoun to of leftover hvy wpns xp too) I thought to myself that BH would be a nice way to add some "punch" to my new profession.

How does this sound? Ranger 4/4/4/0 and BH 0/4/4/4? I know there are certian things I miss out on like the traps, to be honest though the trapping idea dose not appeal to me that much and I ususally hunt w/ guild mates that can taunt. I know that I loose all the fun driod skill in the BH line (and Damage mit too), but I think this makes for a nice balance. how about you guys?

Sounds like fun to me. Although I might suggest going either master BH or Master Ranger with two full boxes and one up to the third tier. Many other people have suggested Master Ranger, with the LLC line in BH, with 13 points left to play around with. Note that the overwhelming majority of the posting Ranger community wants the Ranger profession to be top heavy in the sense that more skills and such be moved to the master box. I know I will be keeping my Master Ranger title no matter what.

I would have to agree with Sirgleno on a number of points. First I think Mastering one of the two professions is a wiser idea than two almost master profs. Either be a master ranger and pick the weapon of choice in BH, or be a master bounty hunter and dabble in the skill you are going to mostly use in the Ranger line.

Fenixru, please keep in mind that most Rangers that I know and have heard in these posts, arent a ranger to make money, for anyone else, but simply because they are a Ranger! if you dont understand what I mean by that, then go with the Master Bounty Hunter title and dabble wiwth ranger. Only advice I can give.

I have mastered 3 professions, Scout, Ranger and Pistoleer and had enough pts left over for Medic with pharm 1. And a point left over. Mastering gets you some added bennies, that almost mastering doesn't.

Personally, pick a weapon and master it. The master marksmanis freaking useless, at least one of the weapons is unused by the professions that require it. And that ranged support - a waste of skill points except for warning shot.

Just my opinions,

Good Luck

I would drop the BH Carbine....the ham costs are high and they dont pack a lot of punch, once again, i agree with JBMat, pick a weapon and master that...the benefits really add up, plus BH's get almost no melee defense which makes you vulnerable with most creature attacks

I have 100% same template as JB, I'm a member of a group of hunters and I can usally out harvest the ones without Dual masters. If your looking for volume harvesting, this is the way to go. Spamming fan shot is a very powerful tactic. Also with the proposed changes in the combat system I suspect your going to wish you had a master Pistoleer or Rifleman,,,, As for trapping death costs time & money, traps have saved my Bothan ass too many times to count.
