If I can track a 400 meter area, does that mean that I see EVERYTHING in that area? Suppose I'm searching for a Wild Blade Back Boar and I can track 400 meters out. Does that mean I can track, move 800 meters and track again? Or does the Ranger only get most of what's in the area?
If any of you do tracking missions very often, I'd love some tips. Do you search the area in a typewriter method? How often do you stop? How long do NPC's take to re-spawn once they've been killed?
Thanks for any help

From my experience and from everything i have read here, It will show you something 400m away. But whether that creature is there or not will vary. Tracking will also not show you anything that has not spawned. I have found circles around a point to work best if you know the area in which something should spawn. And I am not sure as to the length of respawn time on NPC's. Sometimes it happen to darn quick
(Sneaky Elders). If you are referring to the Hero NPC's, as far as I know , they don't respawn at the same spot . Hope this helps some.

Many creatures will not spawn unless and until a PLAYER has gotten to within a certain range of the "current location" ofthe creature. However, then there is the issue of when the creature last spawned and was it killed or not. After a server reset it may be easy to find the boar, while later the same day it is about impossible.
I know what you are asking, here is the solution. Hit the waypoints you have for the boar. All of them. Stop at each one for 10 secs and then areatrack. You may or may not find the boar. The second time around, /ar at points where you can "see" the waypoints - let's say within 200m, as the boar wanders. I recall on some of the waypoints you can "see" 2 or even 3 from a certain point. If the boar has spawned, you will see it. If not (and trust me, there is a lot of "if not" time) keep going.
Worked for me on the pirates, the boar and the rancher/moisture farmer. The BH I found by shuttling and /ar ing right at the shuttle location. I did actually see the rancher on my overhead first, but /ar confirmed it was him.
