I finally met a squad leader in game yesterday while fishing. He and his partner dropped by my camp to rest a bit before moving on.
He mentioned to his friend, "I want to train in Ranger."
His friend asked why.
He replied, "So I can make tents like that guy."
Yeah, that's right. We get the best tents.

True story, I kid you not.
My first year in the Marines at age 18, I was stuck with no leave time for Christmas, meaning I can't travel home. So I'm stationed in beautiful Monterey, CA and figure this will be ok.
Well, Christmas day, myself and three other friends are itching to get out of the barracks so we decide to go on a run. From our barracks, down the hill that the base is on and out to the point is an eight mile round trip and we're running in boots, camoflage pants and our yellow Marine Corps t-shirts.
The point is in a city park on the ocean so we have to run in town for four miles. Well, we're running in a formation of four when this beautifula woman and her husband walk by. She looks at us, then looks at him and says, "Honey, I want one of THOSE for Christmas."
