Hey all,
The other night I finally mastered...pistoleer. I know this isn't ranger yet, but it still feels good to almost have my template finished. I am currently working on fronteering II and have the rest of the ranger trees complete. I just didn't feel right grinding out any of my xp so it is taking me awhile to get to Master Ranger, but I sure am enjoying the journey.

Congratulations.
I understand completely what you mean. I mastered Rifles completely without "grinding" any whatsoever, simply through solo missions, and hunting parties/raids with friends. I did the same with Doctor before that: and the game has not yet become jaded for me. The reward is solely my own... but I feel as if I have earned it.
Of course, some would call me stupid. Oh well. I intend to do Ranger the same... although the Camping tree looks daunting should I use it simply as a fallback position... and I am worried about trapping as well

Trapping isn't too bad, I went up the tree pretty quick for that one. But I tell you now, when I finish this survival XP climb, I will weep openly that it is finished. I wonder what my wife will think of me when she sees me weeping openly for joy while starring at a HTFB on the monitor. I have a feeling I will be forced to go to a shrink.

'grats on graduating peashooters
The Ranger 'grind' really won't take as long as it seems. Or rather, once you've done it, it won't seem to have taken as long as it felt...
(and before the pistoleers go all hissy about me saying 'peashooters' It's just a joke, a jibe, a bit of ribbing. I've enjoying levelling pistols on another toon and, apart from some big game, can handle pretty much anything that comes at me now)

Grats man! Pistols are great fun. As is Ranger, in the end. One of the ways I earned my camping XP a little quicker was by convincing some guildmates to go on a camping trip with me. WHole purpose of the trip was to get to know the guild a little better, and we basically just sat around the campfire and chatted for an hour and a half, while I switched out the camps every ten minutes or so. We also had a fishing tournament to see who could catch the most in 15 minutes. I suppose it really was grinding, but it didn't feel like a grind so that made the difference.

Congratulations and well done on not grinding Ranger but enjoying the ride. It took me six months to get to Master Ranger but I've not regretted it because I had a blast in the process
Well done.
