... not 100% ranger-flavoured, but how fast do your weapons (specifically rifles) decay?
I had two fairly new rifles go 0 con on me 'all of a sudden' today, so did the next lair and kept an eye on the stats of the T21 I was using.
It dropped 1 point per shot? I'm sure they never went off that fast before?
weirdness

Not as fast as that mate but fast enough.
I generally use headshot3 and dont see too much decay happening with my T21s.
I do go through alot of rifles though.

Mine seem to last forever. I usually only have to buy weapons when I pick up a new profession.

The higher the damageoutput, the higher the decay hits.
Yes this means the expensive weapons die even faster :/.
As an example, I managed to completly trash a factory-new T21 with a 35% damageslice on a single kraythunt, spamming adv. strafe at the speedcap with constantly using min/max damage powerups had a much larger impact on the weapon than I expected at first hehe. Yes trashed, I noticed what I did to that thing when it reached 0/xxx condition :/. Yes that was long ago when I was still semi-newbish

aaaaaaaah... yes, specials... PuPs... of course!
I'd picked up a T21 and DXR from my local friendly WS (not just cos he's local but cos he has consistently stocked good gear at sane prices) and got them both down to 0 con within a week. Seemed a bit extreme bit with hindsight I've been "quite busy" tormenting the local garrison.
Sooner I get back to killing critters the better
It's cheaper and the pay's better.
Thanks for the info.

a weapon decays at a fixed rate. If you use certian specials or power up that is when the decay rate is increased.

Plus of course the dreaded Overcharge, which chews lumps out of any weapon

I also read elsewhere that weapons will decay 4x faster with a Power-Up on them. I now only use Pups in a pinch or when I'm preparing for a b*tch of a fight.

very true - on another of my chars I fought a short engagement with my sliced, power-up'd DE-10 pistol and almost wept at the decay!
