Has anyone else noticed that their harvest droids run away when you go into combat? It seems that after the last publish my droid takes off when I go into combat. Also it seems that the harvest bonus has been reduced? Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

Yes to the droid running, or rolling, away when faced with combat.
The solution? Get a harvest droid with some sort of attack modifier as well. That way they have the "look at me i'm a tank droid now" attitude and they won't run at the first sight of trouble. This has frustrated me for the longest time and the above solution has fixed this problem.
Good luck!!!

i think this has been a bit of a problem for a while. i know for a while now, whenever i've hunted rancors or any other animals of a larger size, or when i aggro npc's and they start shooting at me, mine rolls away as fast as he possibly can.

You could have a droid made with one combat module so that it doesn't run away. However, 1 combat module= less harvest modules = lower harvest rating. Personally, I find the cowardly streak inherent in harvesting droids to be pretty funny. Plus, it adds a little more flavor to the hunt. It makes me pay more attention to what's happening, and breaks up the monotony-- instead of kill/harvest, kill/harvest, kill/harvest, I'm treated to the occasional kill/harvest, kill/harvest, /kill/yell 'hey, you little b@stard, get back here!'/harvest.
Just be more attentive and try to catch him before he gets out of earshot. The harvest bonus coupled with the star warsy feel of using a droid more than makes up for their cowardice. So says I, anyway.

Simpler solution -
Don't group with the droid. You attack creature, it lets fly with AOE intimidation or whatever - you are intimidated (wow, big deal) and the droid you are grouped with beats feet. If not grouped with you, droid is not in combat, does not get intimidated, and does not run off 500m while screaming for it's mommy.
Another solution. Sell the one trick pony to a noob. Get a killer droid. They don't run. Mine even help me get better missions when grouped with other players and their droids - Me alone = 25. Me and guildie together = 25. Me, guildie and our two droids = 37. (levels are for Talus, not someplace good)
Better money, better loot, more xp= funner missions that at least are a challenge.

It's can be annoying sometimes for sure...
However, I laugh when it happens.
It's kinda funny to know my droid is a coward... gives the little guy a bit more personality.
As for the combat droid... I may have to try that...

Ok I've never grouped with my harvest dorid. The only time he's gone yellow on me is this sort of random thing where he runs up about 2 m and then turns around and comes right back. I'll track and there won't be a single thing for 500 m. I have to store him and pull him back out.
My combat droids all seem to have a 90ish meter range that they all fall back to. This seems to make NPC chase them to get in range.. so the droid falls back... so they chase some more.. he falls back... etc. And some times they go into mele mode... seems totaly random.. I just don't know. But I love them either way.

Hate to say it but I am beginning to wonder if something in droid behaviour hasn't been changed. One three different servers I've had a combat droid run off, whether grouped or not, and /tellpet didn't seem to persuade the blighters to about face and form up.
The funny thing is they weren't running AWAY from the aggro but chasing it out of range. WAY out of range.
I _think_ I also had this on TC with a cupa recently, but am a bit vague on that.
