Thread: Camo Kit Resources

Is there a list out there that shows what creatures provide the highest quality resources for each type of Camo Kit?For example if the resource is animal bone for Corellia, what Corellian creature has the highest overall quality of animal bone? Having some engineering skill, I like to experiment to try and get the biggest bang for my buck or doe or whatever game creature you want (poor attempt at humor).

Any help here would be appreciated.

Quality of the resources depends only on the type of meat and the planet - not on the creature. For instance, Corellian carnivore meat is gonna be the same whether you get it from a gubbur or a grand wrix (but you get a lot more from the wrix). You also have to look out for resource shifts, though - if you need any kind of meat, one day wild meat may be the shiznit, but then there's a resource shift and it's useless, so start looking for a new type of meat to use.

Agree. A durni will drop the same meat as a bageraset as any other herbivore meat dropper. Altho I have people swear to me that "no man, there is something in the swamp is dropping a different kind of meat than the other herbies", I have yet to find it.

The resource shifts can kill ya too. Bone on Corellia went from OQ 850 to 11 in one shift. As of this morning (at work now so I can't check) insect meat had a very high OQ on Corellia, so I was stocking up.

My solution is to kill and harvest any and everything. When I do find a decent harvest, I maximize efforts and get a boatload of that material, then sock it away in the bank. I use some to make kits for myself, then usually end up selling a load later on to the highest bidders. Keeping it in the bank for a rainy day, or a resource shift is painless and has led to me making some really good profits. Their meat is OQ 200, mine is OQ 850, just like the meat you got two weeks ago (well, it is the meat you got two weeks ago, I just saved a bunch to sell now that it's gone to poop here).

Most of the time, even with semi crappy material, I am getting 10+ kits per try. This is on my home crafting station, which is only +13 or so. There are better machines out there, you may want to invest in one.

I have seen a situation where (for example) corellian butterflies drop one kind of insect meat and corellian butterfly drones (which the shift before had dropped the same type) drop a different kind of insect meat, complete with a different name (and presumeably different stats but I never checked). The next shift came and they both now drop the same (on Naritus).

Is it just me or has anyone else just said to heck with Camo Kits? Since they made the change to camo breaking completely upon combat beginning reapplying all the time is just a waste. The only time I camo up is when I am trying to sneak by NPCs. Any other time I just Shift+F1 for my /maskscent macro. It is free and just as effective against creatures. When it breaks on combat beginning, no big deal.

JB,

I have gotten 11+ chargekits, since the change, using terrible ingredients and my droid crafting station. When I have used high qual stuff I get 14-15 charges. Are you seeing similar results??? Doesn't seem so.

I've said to heck with camo kits for now, but for different reasons: in the last 2 weeks or so, I haven't come across a *single* type of aggro NPC that doesn'tattack me at 64m, whether I'm camoed or not. Not one. So far I've tried on Tatooine, Corellia, Talus and Naboo.

Well, okay, there's one exception: Desert Demons on Tatooine just stand there when I walk up to them, because my constant Swooper bashing has yielded a +5000 faction rating with them. But they still don't check against my camo.

i found my naboo kit conceals me from Plains hunters (childish but i love puking on em) and shaupauts, also i managed to bottom the narglech cave and get 80% way out before it broke. the tatooni shquil cave (sorry about spelling) i managed to get right to the bottom before they spotted me. but i did notice for some reason if i have my pet out it breaks more often. its rather embarassing when your a master ranger and you applie it to other people and it breaks, sort of show us up atm, especially when the mask scent seems to work beter overall.

The most valuable use I've found for the camo kits are when I'm leading my noob friends places and when I don't want to be aggroed by the meatlumps in Kor Vella. Of course I'm only a novice so I can only make the Corellian, Nabooian and Tatooine ones.

I was wondering what everyone hunts out when they need a camo kit. I recently decided to stockpile some camo kits and first hunted out quite a few mammoths and such on Tat and made a crate of them. I know on Dantooine I can get all I need from pikets but I started thinking bout the other planets with a lower spawn rate or smaller yield like corellia, naboo, talus, and rori. What do you hunt for to get the best yield of your wooly and and meaty needs for camo kits?

I was happy to get some 10 charge kits for my crates of that camo. So, I think I am ready for that for a while. I like being prepared.

Kai -

Get thee a craft machine. I have one of my very own, plus my guild has all of them. Using it, I get kits with 15-17 charges - depends on how good the ingrediants are.

Plus it makes for handy storage.

Wow.. I was happy with 10 charges. Hmm... guess I need to watch for some decent spawns to roll in. I use a nice tool. 13.00 or something and my station was like 3.2 or so. Will look into getting a better quality one.

3.2....**aghast look**

try 42 or higher. I think the guild's machines are 44, but I may be mistaken (hell, I bought em and don't remember)

It's not the craft tool, it's the resources and how good they are (OQ) and the percentage on the machine.

And before y'all ask, no - the chances of camo breaking are the same. We are only talking about charges per kit
