Well, w/ a 6mo or so abscence from ranger prof here I am back again :-) Not sure if Im gonna do Master Rngr this time tho. SPs and stacking means I can harvest at a manageable level to make a "living". Honestly Im hoping the return to Ranger prof will save my SWG experience. Most of my best times in the game were spent in this prof, and now about 90% of all my rl pals who use to play SWG have all gone to WoW or CoH and they are all pestering me to come give those a try.
One thing Iv noticed on Gorath server is a proliferation of rangers, which brings a smile. I remember when I did ranger prof the first time, around late May of 03. There was hardley anyone who was doing ranger then. I wound up going thru quite a few adventures just to get trained. "Swam" one of those horrible direah rivers down the length of Lok to get to one of maybe 3 rangers on the server who was hanging out in Imp base. Hard to beleive, but at that time Lok was dense in spawns and the river was about the only safe way to get around (this is before player city shuttles, vehicles or even mounts) without having a flock/herd/posse of creatures or npcs just swarm and annihilate you. Looking back at it, it seems incredible all the hunting I did then without access to buffs or Comp armor, didnt even have brandy, ex pro wafers, or other super foods.
Im looking forward to CU, but ranger upgrade? Knowing SOE/SWG's performance history I'll expect the worst so I won't be disapointed and maybe get a pleasant surprise.
After trying a character on TC for a few evenings, Im worried about what CU will mean to those who hunt creatures for resources. I noticed that targeting and vision LOS seems to be really screwy on TC, so hopefully this wont translate to whats coming down the pike w/ the CU.
K, ive rambled on enough -

That is actually a new feature that isn't quite working yet I think. The end result will be that you can no longer shoot (or be shot) through hills or mountains, making terrain more of a factor in combat.
