In a recent comp crash I had to reload much of my software and upgrade other things including my browser.
I lost all my bookmarked websites. Among these were all sites related to the Antarian Rangers.
If anyone can help me get some of these back I would be grateful.
Also, is there a Senior Antarian Ranger? Aperson who assigns status or something...i.e. Who decides who is the AR rep for a server?
I have many questions about this.
Are there other contacts I need to make, to address my questions to?
all help is appreciated

Charls, try that one above.
On the subject of Antarian Rangers I would like to offer a proposal. There has been a lot of discussion on how bad it is not to be able to help a Jedi from your faction/guild that is getting attacked by BH. BH can take missions together on a Jedi and attack. Nobody can help the Jedi during the attack.
My proposal is to allow for Rangers to be allowed to help the Jedi. I believe that this would be in keeping with the Star Wars Universe such as the Antarian Rangers were helpers to the Jedi.
I know that we might not be able to offer a lot of help but it would add a dimension to the game and is keeping with Star Wars. As a matter of fact some servers have Antarian Ranger guilds that used to help Jedi by tracking for BH, providing protection, etc.
Just an idea

Greetings Ranger Charls,
I must first offer grave condolences to the loss of your computational data—never has such an honorable collection of stored electrons grazed this earth in all the ages of our ancestors. Now on to matters of greater distress: with all the greatest professional respect and concern, I must implore you on the matter of links and/or bookmarked links thereof within ergo... concordantly...

Also, to answer yer question, there is no AR Overlord or anything like that—each chapter is independent of one another. But I won't stop you if you'd like to proclaim me Supreme Antarian Ranger-Lord. Heck, if you'd like to name my friend's dead womprat Stinky Supreme AR Overlord, I'd find it acceptable.

Cebri of Shadowfire,
That idea sounds better implemented in my mind as a mini-faction (instead of single-profession restriction).
A similar idea I've had for the longest time is to create non GCW factions that interact with one another—PvE and PvP, wherein faction standing determines the level of difficulty of missions in which the players may/must partake. For the sake of simplicity let's assume that every faction has an “on leave” / covert / SpecForces status.
On leave gives you squat.
Covert lets you take PvE missions and get cool toys. (You'd get faction points up to a cap)
SpecForces would allow players to exceed the fp cap *as long as* they are declared as Special Forces for said faction.
- - -
Example 1:
A Bounty Hunting Faction – any player (though a person with tracking skills would be *best* suited for the job) may join and take PvE / PvP missions given out by faction terminals/recruiters. BH faction objective would be to retrieve bounties on NPCs (PvE), and SpecForces Players of any other faction (PvP).
PvE missions give small fp up to a cap, cash, and maybe unlock special faction items or quests
PvP missions give large fp past the cap, must be S.F. to partake, etc. Such missions would include either killing or capturing high-ranking players from other factions ( who themselves in turn would have to be SF of their faction to be a mission target in the first place; the target's rank you get is based upon your own faction rank )
Beyond that, the more PvP missions you take against targets of other factions, the greater “hate rating” you personally get with such factions... leading to random attempts on your life by NPCs of the faction that hates you the most (strength of the spawns have no cap, based on this “hate rating”).
- - -
Example2:
Antarian Ranger faction – not necessarily Rebel-oriented, but pro-Jedi.
PvE – protecting an NPC jedi-supporter/force-sensitive/jedi (based on rank) for a certain time from other NPCs.
PvP missions – for example, protecting an NPC jedi-supporter/force-sensitive/jedi (based on rank) for a certain time period from an anti-Jedi faction (Imperial Sector Rangers mayhaps?) who are given that same NPC as a kill target. Another mission could be being assigned a “mark” Jedi player who must survive for a much longer period.
In addition, an Antarian Ranger would grant a marginal benefit to grouped Jedi based upon their faction rank—such things as resisting poison, disease, bleed, blind, etc. Likewise, Sector Rangers would give negatives to the Jedi they have targeted (essentially counterbalance to the AR effect).
- - -
It's something I wish they would do in space—the battlefields up there are just Imperial fp farms (well, until I show up
). If there were auto-dynamic missions (meaning they'd just “appear” in space and maybe give a pop-up asking whether you'd like to join or not) to protect a small rebel fleet spawn from Imperial overts in the sector—this could be done in any one of the space sectors and I believe would give Space PvP actual meaning.
What? You mean there could be a cool way to battle other players in space?! Blasphemer!
In any case, I'm wasting breath here with nonsensical ideas when I should be concentrating on Ranger-revamp ideas (w00t, summer '08 will be the best evar!!!!111!one!1) ...
...
...but instead I'm going to pop in a Blind Guardian CD and /burstfish in a submerged camp on Corellia.
BIG AMERICAN PARTY!
And to all the other insan... erm, my valiant Ranger-forum brethren, to whom I rarely respond yet often read:
“ARrrr,” from Ahazi.
And for your entertainment, a blast from the past:
The new face in fear...
And yes, the Antarian Rangers of Ahazi *are* recruiting mature, Ranger-minded personnel--and no, sending me yer panties in the mail will *not* guarantee you admission.
// Ack, the boards decide to not cooperate when I want to post... as usual... I can't believe I broke the forums AGAIN.
Oh well, just copy to a word doc and wait it out.

Ryland,
I like your clarification of the mini-faction idea. I especially like the Antarian Ranger idea of PvE whereby you could get missions to help protect a NPC Jedi from NPC attacks.
Sadly, these ideas will go nowhere.
