Step 1): Hunt unbuffed for a year and a half. Collect lots of random junk
Step 2): Leave said junk in inventory/houses for a year.
Step 3): Find said junk and think "hmm...maybe i should sell this"
Step 4): Spend one day loot-whoring and find an item you think could be valuable
Step 5): Place looted item up for sell on trade boards
Step 6): Add old item on for low buyout price
Step 7
Be nice, and have someone pay over double what your buyout was originally set at

I always amazes me what some people will pay for stuff. I wouldn't have paid 2k for that.

DOn't forget the different servers/dfferent economies rule. All speed attachemnts sell for around 500k per point up to about 4-5. At 4-5 they start going for a million a point, in general.

2hd speed SEAs go for absolutely outrageous prices on my server. I've been a swordsman for a while now and don't have a single 2hd speed SEA.
I've seen some go for WELL over 1mil per point... if I'm not mistaking, over 2mil per point is not uncommon. I stopped paying attention though because the min bids were always more than I wante to pay. Plus, I don't PvP, so the speed capping isn't as important to me.

lol.... people must be rather dang desperate for an edge. I have never had to spend more than 6k per point. I have seen those disgustingly high priced attachments on vendors. But they stay on the vedors week after week never selling. I didn't realize anyone was actually willing to pay that much, especially since a little looking around will yield a much more favoriable price (hint avoid the mega-malls.)

6k a point? Sheesh...anything desirable goes for high dollar on a lot of servers. Like you said, anything to get an edge (great example: 209 max damage VKs for 500k, 215 max damage VKs for 1.5 million...these are not exact numbers, but pretty close). Speed Tapes and Experimentation tapes sell for ridiculous amounts on Wanderhome. I remember Rifle Speed +6 tapes selling for >1 million a point!

BTW, Phenix, just last night, I was looking through my bank at all my old weapons. I think I have a good chunk of change tied up there, and I may be having a few auctions soon
. Being a Pack Rat can pay off, as you found out

The SWG economy is a market based economy. People will pay whatever they feel is appropriate. It is difficult for the new players to get high quality items when rich veterans are paying millions for stuff though.

weapon speed attachments vary in price because of their desireability. A TKM won't need an unarmed speed tape-- they cap automatically. But a novice TK with money will pay lots of money for them. Rifle and 2-handed speed tapes are in demand because to participate in PvP in those professions, you have to speed cap. I have seen a + 6 rifle speed attachment sell for 10 million, more than I have ever had in my bank account. Which is why i didn't think 200k was unreasonable. I'm quite happy about how nice the guy was though. 500k= 25% of the money I have right now.
It's funny-- i thought the boots with all the cool mods (they'd be GREAT for an AS grinding XP for the village) would be more in demand. In nobody buys them, I'll just keep them as decoration.

500K=half of my highest ever total and 20x my current total.
Only ever topped 1 million credits once and that was as an image designer / musician of all things and made it in one day after not getting a single tip in 3 weeks.

Look at Straif Shot 2. Well most of them really but this one shines with the extra speed. This is before any AP bonus or resists.
Me as a Master Rifleman with my nice T21
Me if I had +7 in Rifle Speed SEAs
7 mil? Any day of the week.
