I'm a BE looking for a second mastery to help primarily with cloning. Ranger caught my eye with its Camo Kits (and proficiency with them), camp-sets, and higher-level traps for quick escapes.
Now I'm curious if Area Track: Animals would help in searching for specific Elite creatures to sample from, i.e. Blurg Raptors on Endor. If so it would save me a lot of time on a swoop.
Any opinions would help.

/Areatrack will definitely help you find specific creatures as you're doing a large area search with each track attempt. Yo can cover much more ground faster and a former BE friend of mine tells me he used animaltrack extensively when he was a BE looking for creatures.
Something to keep in mind though is that it seems that areatrack is effected by terrain sometimes. So if you are on a hilltop you get a better read than in a valley so the high hills and deep valleys of Endor could effect you.

Areatrack will be great for doing just what you're talking about becuse it will identify the specific MOB by name, e.g., "Giant Carrion Spat" rather than say just "Spat".
Good hunting and clear skies.
