I'm master carbineer and starting my Ranger studies. Currently I'm 4010 with about half my trapping xp done for the first box. It's slow.
I make traps, throw one at a creature and then kill him off with my carb. This gets me ~500 trap xp per kill.
Obviously I would like trapping to go faster because this is going to take forever.
Is there any resource I can read to assist me? I'm sure this has been gone over a million times already. Thanks.
PS I do not wish to respec my character.

try throwing more then one trap, that should get you more xp per kill.

And if you're sticking traps hunt with friends, have them kill it and you'll get the entire creature's worth of exp as trapping exp.

Trapping was the first tree of Ranger that I completed. This advice is pre-CU so I don't know if it still applies but:
I bought crates of glow wire traps and hunted banthas. Back then, p-darts didn't stack and you had to wait for one to wear off before throwing another, but you could throw one glow wire after another.

This is your fastest, least frustrating option.
