I havebecome a NoivceRanger. Given my interests, Ithink I will have room for only one branch of the ranger profession. It seems the trap line is broken and I am not sure the harvest line would be worth the points.

If you could do only one branch, what would it be and why?

It really is a toss up between Wayfaring and Field Bioscience. With wayfaring you get better mask scent abilities that makes you harder to see to mobs, but field bioscience gives a nice to-hit bonus with ranged weapons.

Personally I would go with Wayfaring for the improved mask scent, helps alot on high aggro planets like Yavin and Lok.

Well not yet. Right now I'm master carbine/master BH but am seriously considering going to Ranger. Should I keep master carbine or go master rifle?

Not that I'm pro at this by any means. I just started out with this temp myself.

I was master doc/carbs and changed to ranger/rifle. I went with rifle because I was told it was a good mixture because of camo/cover. Not real sure on the best methods for this yet but im working on it

It all depends on playstyle really. Any ranged prof is a great choice and if you're carbs now and enjoy the playstyle of carbines, stick with it. I personally love the mix of carbs and rifles but you really are fine with whatever you choose. My suggestion is to go ranged with your current combat prof and switch that later if you choose - no sense grinding up rifles and ranger only to wish you had stuck with carbs now that you're a ranger.

From a Role-playing standpoint, a rifle seems to fit much better with a Master Hunter than a Carbine, Pistol, or any melee weapon.

that being said, i would suggest that if you love carbineer, stick with it, and if you want to try something new, grind rifles after you try it out with Ranger.

keep in mind that there really isn't any perfect match for combat and ranger. Ranger gives no added bonus to specific weapon accuracy, speed, or anything else, so Ranger is kind of left more open-ended so that a wide range of combat classes can use Ranger.

personally, i'm more partial to Pistols, but that's just my own personal preference.

but the best advice i can give is remember it's a game, so just play whatever profession you think you'll have fun with. and since SWG allows you to change professions, you can always play around with new ones.

Well before I went to Bio-Eng I was a Master Pistoleer and loved getting up close and personal with the critters out there, when I decide to respec again (token) I am going to go Master Rifle, the conceal shot and sniper shot are the best for Ranger (role-playing).

My 2 cents worth.
