Ok I've done the other ranger stuff (group hunting and trapping for them), now I want to look into hunting specific resources. Where is the best place to look for this?

Your galaxy's trade forum. Find out what people want, and go get it. Talk to any AS's or BE's or chefs that you know, see if they're looking for anything and whatthey're paying for it. Might also post a 'hunter for hire' thread to your trade forum.

The forums is a great place to start. That is how I started.
I now have about 15 Armour Smiths and Weapon Smiths that I have sold resources to. I find that if something decent spawns more often than not that one of them will email me (and the other hunters that work for them) to ask if I will hunt it for sale to them.
Also, when I have hunted a resource without a buyer, depending what is, I will email all the AS's or all the WS's, offering it for sale. I seem to always get at least one positive response.
The same goes forBE's and Chefs, they are always looking for decent carnivore meat. I make less money on Carnivore Meat so I tend to stick to hide, I will do meat if there is no good hide about.
I find that now I am selling always to the same group of customers which I like.They know they can trust me to deliver and likewise I know they will pay for the goods when I offer them to their vendor.
