Thread: Drop rate on Gurk King Hides
Wow, that's an impressive number of scales to get in a day. Are they all from the GDK in kimo town, or is your server not having the same problems with Lok that mine is (almost no wild spawns of the southern half of the planet)?

If you got that many, you're having better luck than I. I was working with a Jedi I met earlier today (before reset) and killed half a dozen GDKs or so, neither of us got anything.
Gurk Kings... meh. If I could FIND any wild spawns of "a nest", I'd tell ya how the drops were. I think I found one in an hour of looking, tho there were a bunch of OTHER things spawning. Took out a bunch of Enraged Kimos down on the south side of the volcano near where those idjits put that new city that I think is killing the spawns, but who knows. Nothing else much doing there today from what I can tell, I'll probably check again tonight.
Well to be honest my daughter is the lucky one.
She looted so she hit 8, 8 and then 6.
Yes that city is screwing things up, I used to see GDK and gurks there all the time.
I kinew the wollamanders would be the easy one.
I saw on Ahazi trade 41 selling for 3 million and thought Sucker that maybe an hour or two for one person.
That was Kimo town yesterday. Actually there were more scales butlooting was your turn my turn. Maybe two hours of camping.

And there is a static spawn with a gurk king on lok. Go to the canyon corsair POI. Almost directly west (I think, just go up that huge cliff to the top of the plateau), heck, you could probably area track him. Just camp that, helped me out some. Kimo town is to dificult, Mr. Vankoo always seems to get to me. How do you all get rid of him?
I've actually been pulling the GDKs out some away from him, and definitely staying at range. He only engaged w/me once, and I beat feet out of there - I can take a critter 5 or 10 levels above me, but NPCs, man - we're just too gimped when they close to 40m and start pounding on us (At least as a rifleman). Not enough defenses, can't get out to my best range, can't use my best shots, and have no knockdown or root that work. Bah. My choice tho to play Ranger/Rifles... so I accept the consequences and just don't engage him. 
I'm having crap all luck with the GDK drops too. You (or your daughter) have got to be exceptionally lucky. I've soloed 7 so far just now, and not even a scale or a core. Nothing. But boy, it's fun. Capping out Scout, Rifles, Combat and Trapping XP for my next village run, now that Ahazi is into Phase 2 that will be soon I guess.

acually there are 2 static gurk spawns (-3755, -3462) and (700, -3300) with spawn times over an hour. lairs are harder to get the kings to spawn out of so just hit the statics a couple times a day unless your really commited.
also, you can get cas vankoo to fight the kimo if you agrro either one then get out of thier range very fast before they jump on you. they will then attack the cosest thing, which would be the GDK or cas. how nice of cas to take a few hitpoints off for you.
