Thread: Idea of a new abilty for Rangers!!!

Ok I know I am getting tired of other people attacking my game I am hunting and breaking my snare or root. I know I am also tired of people tring to kill my game before I do.


What I am thinking about is a action called "Own". This action would just be for rangers. What this will do is make it to where no other player can attack the same creature as you are attacking.


This will make rangers life easier by them not having to worry about newbs messing their hunt up.


The "Own" action will last until the animal is dead or the hunter has been killed 3 times or there is a counter of 20mins on the creature. Now this will be a action so if the ranger does not press the "own" button then others can attack. This action has to be done before attacking a creature that is in no stat of fighting. The ranger has to be within 50m of the target just like the traps.


---Another possiblilty---

This action called "own" could be just like a trap too. You make these traps and you have to use it within the same requirements as above except if you die you lose the own and you have to throw a own trap every time you die or attck the creature fresh.


Please add and give suggestions.

Creative, but it would not make everyone happy, so we will get our toes stepped on once again waiting for what we have to get fixed.

This would cause a massive scream from other professions.


Suffice to say, the best revenge on a kill stealer is to have him eaten by other creatures. One lad, attempting to horn in on a Krayt I was dropping, suddenly found himself surrounded by a mobile Krayt and a load of angry dragonets.


Trick one - switch to the "other" combat mode which breaks the snare of the P dart. Switch back, find some nearby reds, aggro them, and run right past the thief. You being maskscented and them probably not being results in an aggro switch most of the time.


Sit back, watch their demise or retreat. Laugh. Then go back to killing the creature you were working on.

Nice idea, but unfortunately the others are right. Especially when the only way for a Ranger to remain true to the lifestyle and (thus) hunt independantly of the mission terminals is to poach other peoples missions before they get there

Kill/loot/xp stealing has been around since as I can remember (started playing last year august)...


An ability is not going to solve this. Making a creature that has been attacked by someone(group) only attackable by that person(group) is the only permanent solution (with a timeout period)...
