Thread: Very Specific Template Question

Well here I am in double exp week and I'm thinking of either redoing my mains combat profession on Chimaera or else working on a new character on a new server and probably leaving behind about 40-50 mil in art, sphd's, harvesters, creds etc and find myself with a big question. I know that with the current P-dart status and a ranged combat profession we can take down krayts, kimos, goraxs etc and I know that in general ranged does more damage than melee but melee can take the pounding better than ranged. What I'm curious about is if you take away the traps, which I do plan on using but I'm just wanting opinions devoid of trap requirements, what combat profession seems to work best with ranger for taking things out with the overall best ratio of beat down vs beat on. I've got Kodan's character builder and have gone through that some but I'm still asking here in case anything is thought of or pointed out that I might have overlooked. Any info is definitely appreciated, thanks.

except for some mitigation if I am not mistaken, but mitigation sucks anyway.

Every single weapon profession (excluding smuggler/ commando) are good complements for ranger.

it all depends on your play style.

Rifleman seems to be a symbiotic choice, both feed off of each other, i am a MBH so i can hunt jedi, and use all sorts of weapons.

the main problem is that ranger does not add any "real" combat skills to your template.
