Thread: Ranger + BH and a bit of Pistoleer?
I've been a ranger/rifleman, and ranger/pistolier, and a ranger/bh post-cu. The template I found I enjoy the most is my current-- master ranger, pistolier 4/0/0/4, bh 0/4/3/0. Damage per shot isn't as high as rifleman, but I like the wider variety of specials I have now. Improved crit, improved underhand, improved stopping, warning shot, improved body. Plus, my speed with a pistol is 80 (90 with my +10 belt), which I like. Master ranger/mbh was cool, but not enough speed. I find that I do good damage with this template, and between stopping, underhand, and p-darts, I can usually kill something before it reaches me. My accuracy is low, but crispic helps there, and my defenses are around 150 for melee and ranged. Not great defenses, but no template with master ranger will have great defenses.
I think the big trick with your template is to get a really good pistol.
I have a couple/three Advanced Scatters that can do around 700+ on critical shot even on high level creatures such as the KDA. Spend a day or three trying to get some really good Krayt tissue and cut a deal with the best weaponsmith you can find.
I had been a Master Pistoleer for a long time, but went BH to free up some SP for FS stuff. I think 90% of the time I use a pistol with the other 10% using a Carbine, and that's only for the range.

FWIW, I'd go for the FeatherWeight FWG5 with the +15 accurcy bonus.
I have just the combat skills from BH at the moment whilstI play shop keepers. I like it, I can use a rifle or a carb or a pistol. I would echo the point about getting the best weapon you can afford though.
