Recently picked up Ranger again cause I can't seem to tear away from the idea.
Question:
I might have missed the boat on this but why oh why did i ride my creature mount from Nym's all the way south on Lokand then from the imp outpost to Nashalon Talus and find BARLEY 3 creatures while tracking?
I know there is an issue that you cant track until it has spawned but NOTHING spawns... why?
If I remember, it hasnt always been this way.
Why cant Rangers range?
Arick
p.s. Maybe I should change the title to "Why cant Rangers range?"

Issue 1: spawns on many planets are borked and the planet seems bare
Issue 2: (and this is the one that really gets me) /areatrack will only pick up what creatures are within 500m who's spawn has been 'popped' by a player. You know how when you drive by an dspawns will start to pop as you go by - well that's the only stuff you pick up. So essentially, you're only tracking the stuff another player has tripped over.

Thank you sir. :-) I was fiamiliar with the second issue. I do not like it either. But I am REALLY replying because it has happened to me on Tatooine in the WSW region of the planet.

I find that if it's not a server reset day, planets can be just bare. Now, today was an odd exception to that since it was a reset but tat was bare. Talus is another exception which seems to always be bare. But, I've seen this happen on every planet at one time or another - lok, talus and tat seem to be most common though.

There may be other reasons also.
Spawns planet wide are influenced by the number of players on a planet. There is an upper limit and during peak times when there are more players, there are fewer spawn. The great AFK entertainers in Coronet affect the number of creatures out in the boonies.
Spawns are also influenced by cities. Take a great spawn spot and drop a city hall there. As soon as the city gets any size, the spawns will stop. I don't mean static spawns, I mean dynamic. Can't have two object occupying the same space.
I used to go to Endor after server reset and laugh when I left, as I would "destroy" the planet chat. I was the only "player" there and had a ton of spawn to mess with.
