ladies, gents,
I,ve just returned from a sabbatical from the game, and im finding my old template somewhat 'out of date' shall we say.
I have been a Mws/Msmuggler/Pilot for a long time, since i felt it was the closest thing to being a gunrunner in game.
Sadly, crafting professions are no longer what they used to be. especially good weapons get ADKed, and there isnt alot of demand for stock models anymore... and the smuggler... well you all know whats the deal there
soooo... im thinking of returning to ranger (a prof i had for some time in the past)
What i'd like to do with my template.
Be able to hunt without armor, or as close to that as i can get.
Ill be focussing on getting resources for my local Armorsmiths,
but id like to be able to hold my own in hunts for the larger prey. (ill even consider putting armor on for those hunts
Type of combat?!?! who knows... id like to try ranged, working on pistol xp right now. i sure hope harvesting droids still work!
i have several diffrent templates in mind... but since im a wee bit lazy ill let you come up with some too

I meant further down the page in the "template" post someone had, but it's no biggy. Just that we see the question a lot, heh, Hope I was of some help with the info I gave about at least what weapons I've personally used.

If you are going to only hunt critters without armor then ranged is the way to go. I did carbines and i love it. With a snare shot it is easy to kite. On the other hand if you ever decide to go againt npc's you will definately need armor. The bad thing from what ive seen with going melee is that you will have a lot of down time, meaning that if you will take considerable damage with out many ways to heal efficiently.

The best hunting comboI have seen yet was Master Bounty hunter / Master Commando. Its only flaw is............its notRanger. I think you can get away with Master Scout though.

There are a lot of template threads.. already.
But if you want to live without armor, I guess you could try one of the ranged professions that work best for you. I'm a MBH, it gives me more Defense than MPpistols did, though I miss out on the roots (until that trap gets fixed). I hear good things about rifles, and if you like them that'll work okay. Since you're used to pistols and might want to stick with them, I'd say you'll do okay with them, but the damage output makes it difficult to take down larger prey quickly. Might want to get a probot to deal constant damage alongside you.
