Thread: Easy way to get trapping xp?

Hi guys and girls 
i am planing to make one of my alts amaster ranger ... so far i am 4434 scout ... working on getting traping xp so i can make it to master scout.
my problem is that trapping xp seems to be to slow for me to grind with ... this toon is only level 22... i amke the trapes manualy using crafting tools ... but cant seem to use them on any high level pets ... only level 27 is the higest till now.
what will u masters recomand me to do ... i am almost considring another proffesion becouse of the crappy xp on trapping

In your skillsheet you have a trapping modifier. Your rate of success with traps depends on this number. So you won't be able to trap level 80 creatures with a trapping level of 20. The only way to get XP is to USE your traps. Don't group up-- hunt by yourself against creatures that are near your trapping level. Now, use 2-3 traps on each creature. You'll notice your trapping XP come in at a reasonable rate now.

and if i amke traps in a factroy can i still use them to grind tog et xp?

yep. you just don't get any xp for crafting them (i forget if you get trapping xp for crafting or not).

I believe you get survival xp for each trap and camp crafted. After you log out this xp then converts to scouting xp.

Use Dweezel (food) it will give you a bonus to your trappin capability level. You won't need it at the low levels but once you hit the higher trapping skill levels you will need to take on higher level stuff. Once you hit Ranger, you will be able to take some Dweezel and throw traps at all those level 80 creatures in your grind group. (Just can't throw them fast enough to get 3 traps out per creature with most grind groups as they take the creatures down to fast.)

i use the following macro which helps alot:
/ui action toolbarSlot04;
/pause 7.2;
/ui action toolbarSlot05;
/pause 7.2;
/ui action toolbarSlot06;
/pause 7.2;
/ui action toolbarSlot07;
/pause 7.2;
/ui action toolbarSlot16;
/pause 1;
/say next;
/pause 7.2;
/macro trap1;
in each toolbar slot is a trap. I agro 3 creatures and when i say "next" i manually cycle to the next one. I do it manually since i dont accidentally want to hit a dangerous voritor or something 
. It's just that the 7.2 needs some tuning. Does any1 have a better macro perhaps? The forum search is unavailable again here

It tasts funny but you get used to it.

Dweezel rocks! at Ranger trapping 2 with Dweezel I could nail a lvl 80 mob 9out of 10traps.

Easiest way to get trapping xp is by throwing traps at creatures of course.
...oh and since some people get little sleep when they are doing other ranger like things... Nightsisters are not creatures.... so you can't throw traps at them.

but you can milk them occasionally. you just have to use the /loot command.
