Been spamming bug reps in about this all day :0 (because I have no life, of course)
'course, TC is now down for a publish update, so I reckon I'll go watch Lost and get back to it later.
Wait a minute...
The system spamming is bad, squish that one like a Rodian in-law, but don't we want to keep quiet about the "camps stay up as long as we want them to" bug? In fact, it may be the case that we have accidentally been given one of our revamp request. Let's not be too quick to get it fixed like the P-Dart "bug" was.

Uhm, no.
Because any numpty with novice scout and too much time on their hands could conceivably splatter camps all round a town that was about to expand. Dunno if it'd have an effect on the town, but it'd stop any new houses being placed. Also suspect it'd lag up the works a bit.
While I was checking this on TC I had, at one point between three toons, twelve camps along the ridge overlooking Eisley. I only got rid of them because I didn't want a QA warping in and sending me to 0,0
If it wasn't a bug the dev team wouldn be trying to replicate it to find it why it's not right. You're also not gaining any extra XP and the camp acts like an abandoned camp while the player who placed it is logged out.
OTOH, it does 'prove' that, albeit inadvertantly, camps can be made 'persistent'...

Well there is that....and I guess it's too late to only allow this ability to find it's way into the hands of those that would use it for good (like putting inpenetrable rings of HTFB's around factories known to making those "garments").
Still, it would have been interestingto walk all the way from Mos Eisley to Jabbas leaving a string of HTFB's every 500 meters along the entire route, or writing your initials in kilometer high letters arcoss the plains of Lok.
