Thread: While I am thinking of ideas...
Again, this one might already be suggested, but here goes. Seems it would pretty easy for the devs to make it so that when you click on an object in your tracking window and hit OK, it makes a waypoint where that creature was at the time of the tracking. Has this been suggested already? Sorry if it has been. I made Master Ranger a few months ago (before all the cool changes went in) and I stopped playing for a couple of months soon after those chanegs went live. I am back and enjoying the game again with all the new fixes and changes, but I have been out of the forum loop for a while to see if this stuff has been suggested.
"It would be a very welcomed addition."
Well... It would be a welcomed addition to some Rangers.
- There are those in the community who consider a waypoint to be well... unnecessary and overkill.

Personally, I don't much care either way. ![]()
Point well made NRaas.
I didnt mean to sound as if I were speaking for all rangers. (That certainly wasnt my intention
)
...and when you get down to it your assessment of it being "unnecessary and overkill" is quite appropriate considering the list of other things we would like to see implimented into the profession.
The only real benefit from a waypoint, in my view, would be to track the distance traveled from the point at which you did the search (..but this can just as easily be accomplished by placing a quick waypoint at the origin...if I wasnt so lazy
)

A pox upon waypoints for areatrack, you sissy people you.
Learn to read a compass. Overkill, it defeats the very core of Rangering. If you have to depend on waypoints, I humbly suggest you find another profession (hairdresser perhaps??)
Rant over.
Seriously, waypoints for something within 500m, be real. Takes like 2 minutes if that to run that far. Turn up your radar (* key on the numberpad) and you will probably be able to see what you found. Unless you are tracking the roadrunner or speedy gonzalez, go your distance, hit /ar again and betcha you are within 100m of the object of your search.
Waypoints ! ? ! Next you will want to know the creature's name, hiszodiac name, and the color of its eyes.

Leader of the waypoints are for wussies movement.
"but this can just as easily be accomplished by placing a quick waypoint at the origin"
Aye, that is the way I do it. ![]()
Though I do end up with a whole pile of waypoints laying around...
- I find it amusingto turn them all on and track my progress across a planet on the Ctrl-M screen.

"i would like to be able to target the thing i tracked"
Many times the tracked creature is beyond the Target system range...
- I believe the Target system will only maintain a lock for items within 128m or so.
