If so can someone please tell me how.

I recently purchased some cammo kits from dantooine and they came with a count of 11... the very best i could ever come up with even with OQ 900+ in both was 8. I must be missing something.

There are two things necessary to do any experimentation on any crafting: a crafting station and a non-generic crafting tool (not the red box with a handle that you get when starting as a novice scout).

For camo kits in particular, you need a 'generic, weapon, and droid craftingtool' and you need to be within a few meters of a 'generic, weapon, and droid crafting station' (either a public town one or a private one)in order for experimentation to become possible. Based on the quality of the resources you will get a higher crafting percentage (I believe it's the percentage of effectiveness). And based on your level as a ranger you will get more experimentation points while crafting (but I'm not sure which ranger tree increases your number of experimentation points). Once you are using the specific tool and are standing near the specific crafting station, go through the same steps you have so far, but when you're about half-way done, you'll get a menu that pops up. There are three options, but I can only remember the two that ever mattered to me at the moment: Experiment, and Create Schematic. Experiment does what it sounds like and you can increase the number of camo kit charges. Create Schematic makes a datapad item that lets you craft the same exact camo kit using the same exact resources ina factory so that you can pump them out by the hundreds.

Hope this helps!

I'm sorry to have made you spit that all out... I should have made my problem clearer.

I'm using a generic crafting tool and I've tried the pubilc one, with my own person droid, (with generic crafting station on board) inside my High tech feild base, and a personal one at my home ... I never get the experiment option.

It is a generic item correct?

No problem. If nothing else, maybe someone who doesn't know the first thing about crafting will see my previous post and gain something from it.

The problem with crafting camo kits and the like is that there are two different types of generic crafting tools. The one that you get when you start an artisan or scout character from scratch will actually allow you to craft just about anything that you have the schematic for, except for some higher-level items. It's basically a red lunchbox-looking thing with a rounded, red strap handle. That tool will not let you experiment though, so it sounds to me like that's the tool you're using. The tool that you need, in this case, looks more like a miniature version of Rosy the Robot from the Jetsons: it's square on the top half and flares out at the bottom, but with a squared handle on the top and is all brown. These are called either a 'general, weapon, and droid crafting tool' or a 'droid, weapon, and general crafting tool', I can't remember which just now. This second type of tool will allow you experiment near a crafting station.

As was mentioned before, for best results you should use a "generic/weapon/droid crafting tool" (if not exact the name is close to the whole thing in quotes), not the beginner's "generic crafting tool." You can ask an experienced artisan to create one for you.

After you drag your raw materials to the proper placeholders and click next, you are presented with three options (based on memory): Experiment, Create Prototype and Create Schematic. If you're only presented with the latter two, you may not be standing close enough to the public/private/droid crafting station.

Do what I did. Approach an artisan and politely ask if they can assist you. I was talking with a Master Droid Engineer at the Bank/Bazaar terminals and after a while he asked me if I knew how to experiment. I told him I didn't and he not only took the time to show me step by step, but he also made me a generic/weapon/droid crafting tool and a food/chemical crafting tool (for medicines).

Best result I got through experimentation on camo kits was 16 uses!
