So it doesnt initially give you any product, but makes you better when you actually do make product?

"What exactly does Experimenting do"
Experimentation makes the product you are crafting better.
- Experimenting does not use up more resources, unless you happen to fail during experimentation and decide not to keep the end product.
- You must be near a Crafting Station andmust be usingaspecialized crafting tool
For Medical items, you can experiment on various elements:
- Ease of Use: Experimenting on this will allow lesser skilled medics to use your product
- Charges: Experimenting on this will increase the number of charges per finished product
- Effectiveness: Experimenting on this will increase the amount damage that is healed per use
For Ranger goods as Klif_Hangar has said, the only experimentable item is a camo kit.

What exactly does Experimenting do while crafting my various ranger and medic crap do? I havent really tested it out because there are some resources I was sure if I wanted to waste on "experimenting"

I don't know about Medic supplies, but I believe the only Ranger items that can be experimented on are camo kits. Experimentation on camo kits gives extra charges. Hope this helps.
