Thread: Animal Calls
"A lure trap is all fine and good, but I wouldn't mind being able to do an animal call instead. Select the animal you want to call over and give it a shot."
- Nice concept. ![]()
- But realistically, if you used an animal call, wouldn't it simply attract all the animals in earshot? ![]()
- Its not like you can call a specific animal by name.
"You, Gurrcat... No, the big one in the back... Yes, you... Come over here!"
- Either way, I'd love to hear thesoft whisperof Ranger bird callemanating from a forest. That would be so cool. ![]()
"You, Gurrcat... No, the big one in the back... Yes, you... Come over here!"
LOL
Seriously, though, good idea, would add to the immersion factor, in my book.
A lure trap is all fine and good, but I wouldn't mind being able to do an animal call instead. Select the animal you want to call over and give it a shot. You could even scale it, so only Master Rangers could call the more advanced animals over.
Yet another way to add some more sound and atmosphere in the game.
BTW I love Ypiana's idea of a Counting Coup. I am actually going to go ahead and start doing this with screenshots and keeping an up to date list in my toon's description.

Heh,, yeah, but how are lure traps going to work. Wouldn't the same rules apply to them with regards to luring the whole group?
I like the idea of Attraction and Aversion Calls, better than traps.
Target the creature you want to lure or spook and use your call. Simple, and less crafting...
