Thread: Ranger Examining & Social vs individual creatures
One thing I'd like to see implemented for Rangers is the ability for a Ranger to examine a creature and be able to tell if they are "social" or "indivdualistic" animals. As a ranger I enjoy soloing and exploring new areas. One thing I have a tough time with is stumbling upon a nest of creatures I haven't discovered before and not knowing whether or not I will get the entir group attacking me if I attack one of the creatures. Why can't Rangers be given the ability to examine a creature and tell if it will bring friends to a fight or if it will fight solo. This would not only help the solo Ranger but also make Rangers more useful in groups because we can scout out new creatures for our group and let them know if we will be getting a single mob on a pull or the entire spawn. Does anyone know if this idea i being considered by the Devs? And if not, is there any way we can bring it to someone's attention? I know it's nowhere near as important as some issues we currently face but it would be a nice addition and something that I think would be easily added to the game.
This has been brought up a lot for the scouts and rangers. I personally feel that the master scout gets enough examine info as it is, and this should be ranger only. If not along the ranger tree, then at master ranger. But I think every ranger would agree this is good useful info they would like to see in the examine. Myself and my friend were taken out by some Ronto's lastnight for just that reason. I saw, hmm, some serious heat protection, a little bit effectivness across the board, and they don't DB. We should be OK and able to take down one. Well my friend the TKA who was tanking, got 2 additional Rontos on him and was incapped, and poor little Bothan Ranger was next.
There are sooo many times as a scout and ranger, solo or group that, that info would have saved us from being incapped or killed.
If I recall, Delta, said it was in his list of things for the Devs. But like a lot of good ideas on the boards, they get pushed down the list as the bug fixing takes place.
Squid:
Bull rontos will always protect the herd, just like Bantha Matriarchs. Attack any ronto and the bulls will charge you along with the ronto you are targeting. Bantha Matriarchs follow the same rule, but Bull Banthas are lazy, I guess. So if you're hunting Rontos take out the Bull Rontos and the Rontos will ignore you, but all Bull Rontos will swarm. Same with matriarchs, take them out first.

Now there I missed a feature for this: If they assist and what they assist. Corellia Butterflies and drones are not assistive. Workers, Warriors and Matriarchs are assistive, and to any butterfly shot. Wrix on the otherhand are all assistive and to any type of Wrix. Useful information like this would allow us to know if the lair is to dangerous or takable with the proper tactic.

WRIX, I hate WRIX
Hey, shoot anything that moves, and then suffer the consequences. As I was heard to say yesterday, "Lets's see if they do pack swarm"and they did, and as I lay there taking a dirt nap, I wrote in my lil note book, don't be messing with savage hambabas you dummy you.
Crash test dummy is in my job profile, I swear, or at least my bio.

Come on, Fred, I'm taking down REAL game, and you're shooting 'butterflies?'
