Thread: Which are best traps for master scout?
Adhesive Mesh
Phenecine Dart (spelling?)
A very overlooked trap is the Glow-Wire. It brings down a creatures defenses against ranged attack. I've used this with a friend using a T-21 rifle, and have seriously increased the mind damage he was doing. We brought down creatures in almost half the time it would take without the Glow-Wire trap.
I concur.
- Adhesive Mesh
- Glow Wire Trap
- Phenacene Dart
Thats all I use ATM, usually in that order. Works great.

Thanks...when you say "in that order" do you mean that's the order you prefer them, or are you saying you use multiple traps on the same target...?
I send in my pet first, thenuseone of each kind on acreature, one right after the next. I then bleed. Sometimes I use Stink bomb, because it makes the creature more vulnerable to pets special attacks. I mainly use the three I listed above when going after bigger game.

Phendratine (spelling?) and Glowire Traps are the only ones i use at Master Ranger, which is why i am DROPPING the whole line. No use to waste points just so i can have "Master Ranger" over my head... i feel a BountyHunter spec in my future.
BH is where I went. Get to keep all the stuff I always use and increase you firepower by a LOT. The pistol accuracy and speed and the best pistol in-game, the scatter pistol, have enabled me to hunt faster, safer, and also engage in PvP. It's nearly impossible to miss now and animals simply disintegrate under a non-stop stream of scatter pistol fire. Also the BH pistol line's got three state affects - a THIRD bleed shot, eyeshot (blind state) and torso shot (sets target on fire and massive action damage).
So, basically Bounty Hunters are very, very good at PvE and PvP.
Entertainer, Scout, Ranger, Pistoleer, now Pistoleer + BH Pistol line and Tracking in Ranger. I think I finally found myniche.

yes but the wire trap lowers ranged and melee which is good if you have pets.
also I belive the wire is cheaper to make?
the glow-wire trap is not cheaper. It requires 7 units of bone 10 units of hide and 3 units of organic stuff. It's worth the extra resource cost imo though. I get a better success rate with glow-wire than glow juice and I like to think it does a better job as well though I can't prove it.
Being a rifleman, the traps I like to use and throw in this order are
1. noise maker - it stuns the critter and does alot more mind damage than bone spur coupled with a count of 8 instead of 5 when you craft them.
2. Phenacine Dart - usually by the second throw a mob knows where I am so using this now gives me more time without them right in my face which is especially good as a rifleman.
3. Glow-wire - like what was said, this boosts damage quite a bit. I was using them on endor today on arachne something or other webmasters, the extra tough ones. Most everyone in my group was hitting the blasted things for about 70-100ish ham. I toss out a glow-wire and we start doing about 100-150ish. I love it. the 700+ trapping xp I was getting for using it was nice as well ![]()
I'ld use adhesive mesh but I still haven't gotten one to work at all, they come in packs of 2, and the only organic resource it uses in crafting is bone. the rest is metal. They give great survival xp for crafting them though ![]()
I use in this order the following:
With 1 and 2 being musts reason being P dart snares Glow wire drops rangged defense.
- P dart
- Glow wire
- Bone spur
When all is said and done it is rare if the creature ever makes it to me.
