Thread: Since the testcenter patch says Camo Kits made in factories will work properly...
What kind of factory will I need to make functional camo kits?
Does this mean that camo kits made ... by hand... won't work properly? ![]()
I despise crafting, so I don't know much about it
Sounds like I'm gonna need a factory

"Does this mean that camo kits made ... by hand... won't work properly?"
The first time I read this in another thread... I thought it was a joke.
If you felt it important enough to make a new thread, obviously you are indeed worried.

No... The note does not mean that manually created camo kits will not work properly.
The note means that Factories will now make them properly, where previously they were not.
Creating camo kits be hand will produce working camo kits (I have just tried it on TC and it does work).

I haven't tried with Camo Kits, but I use an Equipment Factory to make both Camps and Traps. I would guess Camo Kits would be made in an Equipment Factory as well.
Haha, sorry NRaas ![]()
Just wondered if they were trying to imply that Camo Kits would need to be made by factories for 100% effectiveness, or could be hand-made in the field for a 'quick-n-dirty' solution, but with less effectiveness. ~J
Well, it isn't the factory but the crafting tool and the presence of a crafting station (or lack thereof). I plan on getting a droid with a Weapon, Droid, General Item Crafting module so that I can experiment on Camo Kits while in the field. Hopefully they'll add more experimentation to Traps so I can use it for them too!

Indeed you have not donemuch crafting. ![]()
To use a factory, you first craft a schematic to use in the factory.
The schematic is created the same way you make a hand made item.
But you choose a different option at the end of the process to produce a schematic rather than a prototype.

So the camo kits you make in a factory are only as good asthe hand made ones. ![]()
I guess I'm dense as a piece oflead ![]()
What is meant by the phrase "Camo Kits craftedin factories will work properly?"
I would have thought "Camo Kits will now work properly" would have been sufficient, unless their is a meaning that I'm not reading... or maybe I'm reading too much into it
hehe
Maybe I need to mosey over to the crafting tutorials board first...lol ~J
By the way Nraas, while checking into Camo Kits try to figure out what "wider experimentation" means! ![]()
I imagine this means more areas to experiment in, but it's a vague term they used.
This reminds me, does anyone know what determines the number of experimentation points you get for Camo Kits? I think I only get 4 points. I've got no Aritisan skills, only Scout, Ranger, Marksman and Pistoleer. So do I get those points as part of being a Ranger, or is it because I play a Human and they get some Artisan Experimentation by default?
Oh, Oh, I get it.
People WERE making camo kits in factories, which were bugged...
That has now been fixed ![]()
OOOOK. I thought it was a reference to Camo Kit effectiveness
~J
"I imagine this means more areas to experiment in, but it's a vague term they used."
It means a larger experimentation range on the Quality.
There is still only one experiment line...
"does anyone know what determines the number of experimentation points you get for Camo Kits?"
The camoflauge skill mod dicates the number of points you receive while experimenting...
Each ten points in camo skill grants you another experimentation point.
