Thread: Camo Resource Message
The following will be posted on the Correspondent Forum sometime tomorrow...
----
Greetings:
AsGreenMarine requested, I have pooled the Ranger knowledge base and learned the following regarding the current camoflauge resource requirements:
Lok Domesticated Meat
- TheDomesticated Gurk, a native of Lok, which we would have expected to drop such meat instead drops herbivore meat
- This animal will incur a Nym Faction penalty if attacked, so even if the resource were to beadjusted, the Rangers feel the penalty is too great to actively harvest such a creature
Solution:
- The Rangers suggestchoosing a different, more prevalent, meat product ratherthan domesticated meat.
- On all the worlds, domesticated meat is the rarest of meats, and should probably not be used in an item as commonas the camoflauge kit.
Tatooine Wooly Hide
- Most Rangers feel that using any Wooly Hide to make camo kits is far too expensive
- Wooly Hide is of course a highly sought after material in the Armorsmith and Tailor community, and selling this material is much more profitable than using it ourselves
Solution:
- Once again,Our suggestion is tochoose a different hide resource.
- Perhaps a hide resource that is not in such high demand by the other professions
As for the other resource requirements:
- There is ageneral feeling that most of the other resources are abundant enough to suffice
- However, I would suggest someone go over the resources assigned to all creatures in the system, and ensure that the types of resource they do drop is more consistent.
- If you require a list of creatures with inconsistent resources, I'm sure the Ranger communitywould be willing to help and supply one (though it might take awhile to compile)
On a final note...
The spawn rate currently being seen in the game might also be hindering the Rangers ability to locate sufficient resources to create camoflauge kits.
- If you wouldn't mind asking around and ensuring that the rate is how it should be, we would be most appreciated.
Good Hunting. ![]()

As stated at the top... I will be posting this on the Correspondent Forum.
If I do not get the attention of GreenMarine in a day or two, I will take further action to ensure that it is read. ![]()
I take it that if we are being asked about the availability of these resources, then hopes of making the requirements general planet specific instead of specialized planet specific is out of the question?
Otherwise this would be a moot point.
Is there any way you can confirm this N'Raas?
Not that I am overly concerned either way. I'm just curious to know if that possibility has been "put to bed".
Good job, as always though.
"I take it that if we are being asked about the availability of these resources, then hopes of making the requirements general planet specific instead of specialized planet specific is out of the question?"
Consider the way the Survey tool lays out the resources, and you will see now why I believe it is infeasible...
So you think that the schematic could not be coded to accept general Planet Meat, Planet Hide, Planet Bone, and Planet Flora?
I imagine that could be the case. It doesn't seem likely though.
As long as they can find more readily available resources to use for the kits, I'm sure most people would be happy. That, and reducing the amounts required by about half...
I really have no problem finding the resources required for the Tatooine kit... using them is another matter. I assume they could find similar resources to substitute on the other planets, like Lok.
I think I would prefer that the Tatooine kits required Bristley Hide instead of Wooly. It seems to be an under used resource.

If I do an complete about face such as this... I have a good reason. ![]()

Sounds fine to me, I'll make the suggestion in the final report.

Thanksto those who posted theirinput on the subject...
It was an interesting read. ![]()
I have received an encouraging reply from GreenMarine regarding the contents of this post. ![]()
However, I don't know when any changes will occur. ![]()

I consider the issuein progressfor the moment.

I know the Devs aren't listening, but I feel avian bones are burdensome in the kits. First, avians are much more uncommon than animals (they are in 6 of the 10 kits) making it harder to collect them. Second, when you do find them, you have to make the difficult choice of collecting meat and giving/selling it to Doctors to make enhance packs or collect bones to make a camo kit that drops as soon as you fire (thus it is short-lived). I can tell you right now it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that enhancepacks have a functionality level an order of magniture higher than camo kits and Doctors pay very well for avian meat.
I get paid far more for Avian meat than Wooly hide and I am an active organic resource collector who shops around for the best buyers...avian meat is simply the most valuable organic resource...and the most tedious to collect. No other class has to make such decisions. Harvestors don't run off rare ore.
Animal bones instead of avian bones on all the kits.
