Yesterday I spent some time roaming a few planets checking out some fish sources. I found some fantastic fish on Rori (Tempest server) and decided to spend the day there. I spent a good 6-7 hours and got about 600 fish. The stats are as follows.

FL-851
PE-867
OQ-859

I later posted them on the bazaar in 100 lots for 3k (or 30cpu. I'm alwasy uneasy posting things as I'm never sure of my pricing, this seemed WAY too high but for the work and comparing it to other harvested goods vs. time (ie hides/meat) I felt I should try it. I was contacted by someone within the hour asking if I fished often, I said I do occasionally. He was looking for a regular supplier and would pay 10cpu. I said I wasn't interested in really working for someone else and that I felt 10cpu was rather low for the amount of work tied into fishing. He said he understood as he had fished before. After about a half hour of talking about stims (the difference fish made for them) and asking if I would lower the price, to which I politely reponded that I would like to give them a chance since I had only just posted them, he ended up buying all of them.

I'd like to know if anyone else out there fishes for large quantities as well. What pricing scheme do you use for the fish? I explained to the guy above, the I could have very well spent my time on newbie creatures which yeild more units per kill and made tons more money. I figure, the BE's know that fishing is a pain and takes time, they do not want the boredom or spend gobs of time doing it, yet this guy had a point, the difference between Pet Stim C's and D's is only 100 pnts with the fish and C's are much "cheaper" in comparison to fish.

Spending a ton more money for a 100 pnt increase doesn't seem to make much sense but it doesn't take away from the fact this stuff is a royal pain to obtain and most of the BEs don't want to spend that time. What is the happy middle ground here?

I wont even bother to fish for less that a high OQ/PE fish that I could sell for a minimum of 30 credits per unit. A couple weeks ago I was able to get about 700ish units with about the same stats you posted and sell it for 50 per. The same buyer says he's willing to pay up to 100 for really, really good stuff. I camp while fishing, so not only did I get great survival xp during that time, I made 35k credits to boot.

Dont sell yourself short, fishing is a pain, if they dont want to pay the price, they can get their butts out there and fish themselves. I'm sure after they get their 5th fish in a row that filets for 1 or 2 units (which has happened to me on more than 1 occasion) they'll give up and understand that we dont just drop a harvester and come back to pick up our bounty. 10cr per unit is an insult on your time. You're better off power camping afk to get survival xp, and selling wooly hide off durnis and paralopes.

Don't you find it odd that he tried to haggle you down to 10cr per unit saying it wasn't worth paying 30cr per, yet when you refused he bought it anyway? That's because they are worth every penny he paid for them and he knew it. He was just trying to sell you short.

I went fishing this afternoon and spent a few hours collecting all of 200 fish meats - the stats were similar if not superior to the ones listed above. I managed to sell the fish husks at 200 per but still even if I sold it at 50 cpu it just isn't worth the hassle. I don't need the exp so I'm just holding it and maybe can trade it to a BE for some decent stuff.

the only thing we have that still uses fish meat is the stim D in sets of 24. the 2 tissues that we had are gone as of the next big patch. The way I handle the whole PSC and PSD thing is if you can bring me the dath insect meat or fish products, I will make you the stims at half price. So this will reward the CH, specially in the case of dath insect meat. If you have no use for Pet Stims, you can turn around and sell the Ds for what ever price you can get for them, which is normally considerably higher than my normal price of hp/10.

Found out that fish is used to make Pet Stims D! I am a creature Handler also and find that fishing is good to get stims...After you have the fish you just need to hunt down a Bio-Engineer.
