Here is the word from the Scout Correspondent:

Guys,

As you all may know (if you read the Chef's forum), the Chef's are getting a major revamp in the next publish.

But they didn't get all the fun - we got a little bit to help them out.

As of the next publish - Scouts will be able to milk herbivores.

So look out Bessie, here come the Scouts!

This will be one more monkey making opportunity for us, boys. So take advantage of it.

Yippee for scouts!

Just another thing that does not make Rangers any different than them though.

Here's a question for you.... Can it be called "Sour Grapes" when you have the same thing as another person, but you don't want the other person to have it?

What the hell is up with making monkeys? seems that all the scout correspondents have some kind of monophilia.

It goes back to a slight mistake Delta made when he sent an message to the Devs. To make along story short, part of the message was supposed to mention that scouts had few "money making opportunities". Instead Delta included a typo and that said the scout community was concerned about the lack of "monkey making opportunties". The Devs addressed the intended concern, butalso jokinglyacknowledgedthat scouts lacked a way to makemonkeys. Because it was a Dev post, lots of people saw it and we tease Delta about it to this day. However, he's a good sport about it.

And if they made milking a novice ranger ability, then the dabblers come....if it is made a master ranger ability, milk remains quite rare...trade offs.

I think the real way to fix this would be to make the amount of milk extracted dependent of the Creature Harvesting MOD. The higher the harvesting MOD, the higher the amount fo milk, as it currently is with the hides, meats in bones. This way we rangers can make money with this new ability, cause we would be able to get higher amounts of milk.

I'm a Master Ranger andI make a great deal of "monkey" selling hides and meats. Yes Scouts can get it too, but how about when an armoursmith orders 10k of wooly hide and offers higher c/u if u get a higher amount? I once got a full set of Krayt Enhanced Layered Advanced Composite (valued over 1 mill creds) , plus a crate of Mk3 PSG ( valued in 50k) plus 500k in credits for 50k units of good wooly hide !!!!!!!!! I got that amount in 1 week of harvesting and hard work, do u know how much time would it take for a Hunter Scout to get that amount?

So that's what i mean with seriuos monkey making ability for us rangers, if the milking comes associated with the creature harvesting MOD, fine with me. If it doens't then that would be HIGHLY UNFAIR for us Rangers.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Does anyone have the link to the original post from the devs on this?

There is none (at least none I read). It was released through the Corr.
