Thread: Electrobinoculars for Tracking
The addition of vehicles in the game has removed some of the usefulness of tracking for many people in the game. Why take the time to track when you can just zoom around on your speeder?
A possible method of increasing tracking usefulness might be to extend its range, possibly out to a 1000m radius. I'm assuming that this is possible given the current game engine. An interesting in game mechanic for doing so might include the use of electrobinoculars. Items which, so far, have only been included in the game as broken items.

To promote interdependence among professions the electrobinoculars might be a charged item purchased from artisans. Perhaps the schematic could be in the engineering tree. Possibly at some point an animation could be added to show rangers scanning the area with the binoculars in hand.
My apologies if this idea has already presented or if the feasibility of increased tracking ranges has already been discredited.
The Binoculars idea has indeed been brought up, and it has its place in the SotP wishlist.
Always good to bring them back the forefront though, for evaluation by the new members of the community. ![]()
[Edit: The sentence makes more sense with an 'up' in it.
