The higler the level of the camp the more xp you will get with a slighlty faster rate (I think). If you are levelling, crafting camps gives survival xp, so craft away.

• A basic camp maxes out at 360 XP.


• A multiplayer camp maxes out at 640.


• An improved camp maxes out at 800.


• High Quality camp maxes out at 1000.


• Field Base maxes out at 1100.


• High Tech Field Base maxes out at 1250.
  

Those numbers from the Scout boards seem directionally correct, though I know I've gotten slightly more than 1000 from a high quality camp. Either something is causing a slight "bonus" to the max xp for the camp, or the numbers are a little bit off.

I heard it also had to do with healing. If I stay in a High quality camp for a long time (20+ minutes) while I was fishing and I had no wounds to heal. I closed the camp and got 1k of xp on the dot. When I had some wounds from missions and I used a camp for a long time (20+) minutes, I got 1033 xp.

Those xp are correct. I think you can get bonuses based on the number of visitors your camp gets. It seems like its raised 10-15 points for each visitor.

I recently went on a base raid with around 30 other people. We got to the base and found that it was not vulnerable. I built a camp and had around 22 visitors. Then everyone got their speeders out and I disbanded the camp. 1600 xp with the High Quality camp kit in 10 minutes. I also saw weird messages about getting scout xp without harvesting or an aggro mob in sight.
