Thread: Solo big things and not get hit
I use my minimal medic skills to keep my action line up, and to heal the odd hit I do take.
Try this, if it doesn't work, double your money back and a free rasp. Just find me to collect. As my ingame name is not the same as what I post with, and few do know my ingame name, I think I am fairly safe. Besides, this was free - lol

Same thing I used until I Mastered Rifleman.. if you do the running part right, you don't even have to Phen Dart them. I have used the bleed and run (on a mount or speeder) to kill things like Blurg Raptors and pre-nerf Krayts(with the help of some local MOB lairs I ran him through). Just bleed and go out to about 110m. Creature will aggro when the bleed hits, but may not even come after you.. go a little closer until he does.. you can even wait for the second bleed to hit. Draw him out and when he gets far enough he will PEACE you and start heading back to his lair, then reaggro when another bleed hits. When the bleeds wear off, he will probably have like 1 point left in whatever HAM you were bleeding. Pop him and harvest.
Don't lose sight of the creature for long as they may regen back to full stats. I don't think they will if they are actively bleeding, but if the bleed finishes and he gets away from you.. when you catch up to him he will be back to full stats in some cases. Quite annoying.
Just for the record.. posture does matter if you dont have maskscent or camo on. You can go prone and get off the bleeds without those and they usually won't aggro.
Also, keep in mind the MOB's resistances do not affect your bleed shots. They may have high energy resist, but your bleeds will hit with full strength. So if the MOB is really big... like CL100+, bleed and run can be a viable tactic for soloing them. And you should always watch the combat window.. see what your bleeds shots are hitting for.. if you don't get a good roll.. roll it again for more damage hopefully.
I was soloing Bull Rontos as a Novice Pistoleer with /healthshot, /warningshot, and
/bodyshot combos and a few traps. I would say just be careful and work your way up. Its important to assess the vulerabilties and resistences of the creatures as you try new ones. You dont want to get into combat and wonder why its taking you so long to kill the same level creature you were just mopping up on other planet.
If you are gonna use traps.. you should limit yourself to MOBs that you know your traps will stick on.. you dont want them to miss or you could get in trouble a lot.
If you do missions with this technique or you find your kill is disappearing, it's becuase you are dragging it to far from its spawn point or lair. I've been using this technique forever. I find it is easier to use your arrow keys than your mouse. You'll want to make sure you stay within that 80m to 90mradius of the spawn point so you don't lose your kill. I usually make a square pattern as I kite. Trap, move right 60m. Trap, move up 60m. and so on.
I mentioned doing missions with this technique. Depending on the creature lair, if you kite your target too far away from the lair, a lot of the time a new spawn will take the place of the one you are taking down. Also, more times than not, the lair will magically regen all of its hit points. That means more time on the mission. So I kite within the 75m to 80m range of the lair and things turn out fine. Just takes some practice.
As for TKA and brawling, get a buddy who uses a ranged weapon to use thistechnique to pull critters from the lair. Stand next to your buddy and when the trap hits, jump in on the kill. I helped a friend grind through the 125k qualifications for fencer in no time, with little down time from healing.
