Say I use wire-mesh traps from the scout tree as a ranger. Does the trap itself effect what CL of a creature I can use it on, or my +trapping skill.
What creature gives the highest XP at novice ranger and what trap should I use?

Some traps work better on certain creatures compared to others. So far at novice ranger I found out that I can use the base trap wire-mesh on just about anything. I trapped enraged rancors for about 30-45min or so (maybe longer but i doubt it) on dathomir and got trapping 1-4 done. 1584 trapping experience per throw, you won't miss much and they are 36k missions. You will need some ppl in a fairly large group to get these but you can also harvest for 1584 scout experience and get very nice exp while your at it. =)
