Thread: Educate me about schematics.

This isn't a ranger issue, but I am posting it here because when I posted it on the artisan forums all I got were artisans who wanted my business more than they wanted to answer my question. So I am taking this to my fellow rangers who I feel may be somewhat unbiased.

I know nothing of the schematics I have been looting since they upgraded the loot. I don't know much about their value, how they are used, or anything. I know they allow artisans to make specialized weapons and other equipment, but I have no idea how many items they are able to craft, how good the quality can be, and how valuable the schematic would be to an artisan in general. So I am hoping someone can give me a run down. Schematics 101 if you will. Should I be trying to sell my schematics to the artisan, or should I be paying the artisan to make me something? How can I maximize the quality of the product I get back once I find an artisan to make me these things? Any and all info on schematics will be greatly appreciated.

I can't say I know about all of them, but there are some that are for making special enhanced clothing. Here is a link that describes them:

Essentially, you get schematics I think mainly as quest rewards, then take them to an artisan (these go to a tailor) along with certain required components that must be looted, and from those they can make some fairly nice and valuable items.

I've seen auctions for these that sell them for anywhere between 100k and a couple of million.

If you mean the schematics from the them parks or a quest, they are fair to middling valuable. Obviously the weapons are worth more than the clothing, personal opinion.

I got 5k per clothing, as we know JB is all thumbs when it comes to artisan.

I am in negotiations for the weapons schematics (plural) I have. I want at least one pistol and credits out of this deal.

Will let y'all know.

I need more info. How many items do these schematics grant? 1 per schem? 50? 100? I see someone selling a lightweight backpack on the auction forum starting at 250k! Is he ripping people off? Do I have a hot item here? I mean, I don't want to find an artisan, sell the schematic to him for 100k and have him turn around and make 50 of them to sell at 250k each. Since I am not an artisan nor have I played an artisan, I realy know nothing and I don't want to undervalue what I have. I haven't seen any of these on any vendors yet. I've only seen a few featherweight FWG5's that have lower stats than the normal FWG5's on the same vendor.

Since I can't hunt anything right now due to the spawns being all messed up, I am looking to sell some of my loot, but I am worried that because I know nothing about it I may get ripped off. Please help.

And to clarify, I am refering to the schematics from the theme parks. I have a featherweight military backpack schematic, some carbine schematic (I'm a pistoleer so I didn't pay much attention to it), and I got an Imperial prototype PSG schematic from an NPC on Dant.

"How many items do these schematics grant?"

From the schematics I know about, they allow for 3 uses.

However... You can create a manufacturing schematic for 1000 runs each time, ending up with 3000 items.

The rarity is supposed to come from the components required to create the end product, which are supposed to be rare (like the aldaraan flora for instance).

Several quest schematics, however, don't require such rare components... And therefore can be produced enmasse.
