I typed in /throwtrap and the command thrwo trap came up in the combat que, but no trap was ever thrown. Is there some way to type in /throwtrap SharpBoneSpur or something. (I tried that too, by the way). At any rate, just wondering if anyone knows how to throw a trap with a command.

Thanks

Me: Oh, I stopped playing when holocrons came out. I just check macros now.

I believe it was a command that was removed for some odd reason in beta, but was never completely eradicated. We have a request for it to be brought back in its entirety in the SotP

just dump traps in your hot bar and hit the F1-F12 (depending on where you put it) to throw the trap.

We don't have time to discuss this in a committee.

There is no command such as you ask, but I got this from the scout guide, and it applies to you as well.

Now, just add /ui action toolbarSlot01; as the last command, and it should become a looping macro. Just keep your toolbar slots full of traps.

TRAP AND CAMP MACROS

These macrosare both usable for camps and traps.In order for it to work, you’ve got to set up each of your traps or camps in a quickbar slot - this could be quickbar slot 4, if the other 3 are setup as I outlined above.

Write out a macro and place the start of it in your first quickbar slot (F1). Then add in other slots for your traps. Type them out as follows:

/ui action toolbarSlot02;
/ui action toolbarSlot03;
/ui action toolbarSlot04;
/ui action toolbarSlot05;
/ui action toolbarSlot06;
/ui action toolbarSlot07;
/ui action toolbarSlot08;
/ui action toolbarSlot09;
/ui action toolbarSlot10;
/ui action toolbarSlot11;
/ui action toolbarSlot12;

For each quickbar slot from F2 - F12, drag a trap up there. Now, each time you hit F1, you’ll queue each of those traps up in your attack queue, and rack up the trapping XP.

You can also just drag a trap up to your hotkey bar and then hit the corresponding F-key. The macro above is for throwing all of your traps in sequence (great for trapping xp).

If you just want to use the traps while you are fighting and do not want to get stuck in a macro use the hotkeys to throw them individually. You can still string a series of them together, this way just gives you the option to shoot/hit without having to /dump and waste precious time.

Use the macro if you have a tank!!!

Ok, the main problem witha macro is - you are gonna get ate if there is more than one creature.

We has a debate a while back. Traps are left handed, stims go in the left arm. You start a trap throwing sequence, you can't shoot, you can't use stims, you do nothing til the macro ends - cept stand there and toss traps. Unless they fixed it, the various commands to clear the combat queue do not affect the trap macro (it's the left hand thing we think - a theory). It seems traps trump everything (to paraphrase Monk). Use the macro only on critters that can't beat on you, or if you are with a group that can take the critter - or prepare to see Mr. Cloner.

Personally, I have em in my tool bar, toss a few here and there and use the lulls in combat to keep the bar full. (4 middle boxes, second row, pdart, pdart, ldart, glowwire)
