Is using traps against Player Creature Pets bugged?

Everytime I've tried to use a trap in PVP against a pet, I get a system message saying I can't do this.

I can't prove one way or another whether the creature attack bonus works against Creature Pets either.

I love being and roleplaying a ranger.

But with this problem, ranger is quite worthless in PvP.

IS this an issue being worked on, is anyone else aware of it, or am I just bugged?

It's already in the "State of the Profession" list made by Nraas as point we want to have changed, so till the devs change it traps can't be used in PvP. So you're not bugged, Nraas has already noticed it and if the devs working on anything we Ranger would like to have changed only god and the devs know

Emeloy is correct.

Creature trapping is working properly... It simply is not meant to work (it was disabled back in Beta).

We do have a request for the ability to use traps on creature pets however, and the developers have suggested they are considering it.

Although it would be nice to have in PvP, I could see it simply being used as a grinding tool to gain trapping with no risk. Similar to using a high HAM creature, burning it up to get lots of wounds, then using heal wound packs to gain lots of med xp [healing damage does not work, wounds does the last I checked. So does curing disease states I believe also.]

Besides, as a CH/Pistoleer, I can assure you that pure CH is not viable in PvP. Just ignore the animal and take out the owner with a few well placed mind damage blows and the pet will fall like a chump.

Nevermind...most people check facts BEFORE they say something, not after.

In the past, this topic genearlly had the stipulation that trapping PC Pets gave no xp.

When and if we can trap pets in PvP, xp or no, the pet will become useless in PvP.

Scenario - MCH calls his monster pet Rancor. A Master Ranger pdarts and ldarts it. Someone does a KD on it. It's bleeding, dizzy, on it's back and slow - good pet. Say nite nite Mr. CH. Say nite nite lil Rancor. CHs no longer rule PvP. Combat balance, especially as there are so few Rangers around compared to the number of CHs.

Hopefully we will be able to trap pets, sooner than later - FOR NO XP. Die in PvP, no decay. Trap in PvP, no XP. Seems fair to me.
