Thread: Question for NRAAS Dev priorities list?

I'll tell why this question should matter to Nraas, to me, and to YOU, the Ranger reading this post:
The survival of this title, and hence our beloved Ranger profession, depends on a well planned & executed strategy.
Bear with me please, I understand the vices of long posts, and this one won't be about camps or traps. I beg your indulgence in a short digression from those.
I asked that question in my title, of course, because I have some preconception of what a rightly prioritized list should look like (and of course, where reworking the Ranger profession ought to be in that list). I ask Nraas because you are responsive 
I'm having a hard time seeing the master battle plan. Some activities and initiatives are sprinkled throughout the forums (I love the In Concept, In Test and In Development forums idea!), and I understand droids are coming piecemeal over the next few publishes; but I have yet to see a concise statement of the course that is charted for SWG.
For the interested, here's this Ranger's idea of what can right this wayward ship:
Redesign the GCW.
There is nothing more pressing for the team to be working on than this. Nothing. This IS what the SOE should be selling in this title, and it is MIA. Up until very recently, the sole reason for engaging in PvP (and ostensibly the GCW) was for the privilege of taking 1% off your enemy's clothing. Think of something in this GCW to win and lose, something that can change hands perpetually without affecting the storyline continuity. Lack of ideas is no excuse. Like the Ranger forum, the CGW forum is packed with passionate people generating lots of great ideas. Necessarily, having done this exercise will force you to make some changes to the PvE system. Make a mental note of that.
Redesign the Professions.
Once you have decided what people will be fighting over, you can decide what things each side will need to do in order to fight for control. Will they need tanks (AT-ATs) and tank drivers? Will need large guns (ION cannons), and large gun operators? Make an inventory of the toys & abilities people will need to use and partition them. Those partitions will comprise SWG Professions. THIS IS WHERE IT MATTERS, THE QUESTION: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A SWG RANGER? We are not there yet. Necessarily, having done this will force you to make some changes to the PvP system as well. Another mental note.
Code.
X percent of time writing the new stuff
X percent of time responding to the current gripe list

Rollout the Changes.
This is a tactical matter. SOE has to figure out how to get in the required PvE and PvP changes, without shutting down the systems for 6 months. If I had to venture a guess it would be:
1. Rollout the new PvE & lock away all the new features until the other puzzle pieces are deployed.
2. Rollout the new skill trees (RANGER FIRST PLEASE!!!)
3. Introduce the new weapons and machines (if any) the new system will require.
4. Rollout the new PvP system
5. Throw the switch on the locked up PvE features.

Nraas, what is the development team's priorities list? Can you get it for us? Why shouldn't they share it at an appropriate, but yet still meaningful, level of abstraction with this gaming community? Dates can be withheld in order to protect the persecuted This information might be already available, and perhaps I have missed it. If so, I apologize, and could you please point me in that direction? From a selfish point of view, having this information can help me decide if I should pick another hobby!

Currently the developers are working on the Combat Balance. As well, they are working on DE.
In the future they havedropped hints ofworking onSmuggler, Squad Leader, and GCW (don't read anything intothe order given).
"Can you get it for us?"
Doubtful.No amount ofpestering from me will get them to release that, unless they choose to release it.
You will need to live with the various tidbits the developers drop in their Letters, and on the forums.

If you see most other forums you'll udnerstand why they will never give out lists as this... can you imagine the uproar, if one profession is considered more in need of time than another or if they change this list in the course of development? After reading the swg forum for some time now, I really amazed that devs or thunderhead really waste time to post here, cause nearly whatever they do they get flamed and insulted and so on.

That's the sad truth. 
It's a long wait between real posts about the next publish... But pretty much no matter what they do/say someone complains.
