I am just curious.
I have a domain I can subnet, and bandwidth to spare for the traffic if there isn't one built yet.
I would just need some input from my fellow rangers as to how to format the site.
Again this is IF there is not a ranger site already.

I believe someone mentioned putting together a site with all of the information garnered so far from the boards.. Basically, everything in the "Ranger Threads" float, the Outdoorsman Proposal, and the State of the Profession. It'd be a nice idea, but it would take a lot of work to get all the raw data processed into a useful information format. I consider myself a pretty good web-designer for a self-taught dabbler (check the guild site to the left and you can make your own call) and wouldn't mind giving a hand with the .html.. But I couldn't even begin to offer my services parsing through everything and processing it.

Well What I would do is ask people to submit the information pain text, then wash it trhough a html-php converter and establish a module under phpnuke for each major item you listed.
Also if it were run under phpnuke it would allow us to have trusted authors who could submit their own articles into categories in plain text.
It is just a thought. It wouldn't take very much time on my part at all to get it up and running. Aesthetics would take me a few days but in the end I would let someone else admin it, and let our fellow ranger bretheren make it their own.
If there is interest in this first take a look at my guild site (link left) or go to www.2e1x1.net (my main domain) and take a look at what I can do.
Seriously I have no problem doing this. I am kinda burnt right now playing and could use something to get my interest peaked again.

Well i went ahead and did the work.
The site is functional, and now here is what i need from my fellow rangers before going forward.
Forums
- categories
--forums to go into those categories
News
- topics (or subject groups)
-- authors who want to be involved in submitting news and following the annoucnemnets concerning swg
Anyone can go to the site and register, but there will be no further function until I get these things from you guys.
You can see what I have done at:

If your server meets the requirements, I recommend phpBB for your forums. You can check it out either at phpbb.com, or you can see my use of it through the PA link to the left.
Though.. come to think of it, do we really want to turn focus away from these boards? The website would be a good tool as an easy-to-use repository of the information, but I'm not so sure about actually trying to move part or all of the community there.
