Hello, oh wise ones.

I recently gained Novice Ranger and have limited skill points to play with.

My template that I am settling on is as follows.

Master Scout

Master Creature Handler

Master Pistoleer

Ranger ( with points for 3 skill boxes)

My play style is that I'm out soloing most of the time with my pets. The majority of missions I take are creature hunting with the odd Nylax Follower and the odd Faction Mission. PVP is when I get really bored and don't mind getting DBed ( not often)

My question then is as follows:

With the ability to only get 3 skill boxes in Ranger which would be more benificial. Concealment or Creature Knowledge/Tracking

Thanks for taking the time to help.

As it is, I would recommend the Tracking tree over the Wayfaring tree for you. The main reason is that it will let you see both special attacks for creatures you examine. The concealment and terrain negotiation skills will probably be less useful. And the tracking tree would give you a nice amount of the /areatrack skill as well (quite useful for finding babies).

Tracking tier. nothing else is worth anything. conceal doesnt do anything in pvp. conceal fails vs minor mobs and I am a master ranger.

Plus you can track a mob, examine to see if there are babies of its kind, hit wild nests and find babies... and maybe even track a baby. Good for a CH.

I play more or less the same template as you, and I would definitely go with the tracking branch, especially if they are going to add the /track command, because it would make it much easier to find and tame babies.

*IF* they add the track command, it will almost certainly be a Tracking IV or (preferably) Master Ranger ability. Not because we want to discourage dabblers, but because it's a useful enough ability that it should be restricted to serious rangers.

I would go with tracking also, it is in my experience a great help in finding babies to tame.
